Yeah as upstate New Yorker, I have learned one thing about different coast in the states. If a mass migration forced these people towards the north east, no way can these people who live in the sun belt states make it. The weather, the lack of Mexican heritage, scenery, food etc etc would drive them insane. I don't even think they could handle NYC or central NY. The only type of Spanish are from the West Indies like Dominicans or else a shit ton of Puetricans. The Native Americans are even a 180 difference compared to out west. It's insane what kind of weather will attract a group of people. While Mexicans or people from Latin America are probably more common to see down there crossing back and forth from the border. Canadians, especially French speaking one's are more common obviously with the northern border vs the southern border. It's like Western Europe or Eastern Europe, at the end of the day both worlds are wayyyyy different. I guess you can say the same for just about any continent like north or south Africa. Amazing tho

The way people wear skinny jeans, and others have dress like hipsters. In the 90's being hard was the trend. Gangster rap was a BIG influence, and movies were a HUGE influence. Boys in the Hood, Menace to Society, American ME, Bound by Honor (the original name of the film), Belly. I had PTSD from growing up in El, Paso in the 90's, no joke. I remember doing something dumb, and not wanting to leave my room for days. Then my mom would send my brother and I to the store, and I would be so afraid, because I knew it was coming, and it would come. Maybe its not the first time, or the third time you go to the store, but it would come. First you hear the engine REV, then you hit the floor, shielded by a car hopefully.....pop pop pop. The SCARIEST shhh ever... This was a recurring theme for five years, and at 17 I moved away. I am the only one of my friends who I grew up with, who didn't go to prison or rehab. New to El Paso and living on the West side where we are shielded from gang life. But my debutante upbringing in San Francisco still didn't keep me from liking the gangsters of Oakland and East Palo Alto and leading me to a marriage to a Crip. But THIS story is intriguing, fascinating, intimate and something that I have been needing to hear and glad to have discovered this opportunity to learn more about this city that I accidentally came to live in. Keep up the genuine and creative storytelling. This female mortician loves you.

Aqui paro El Tweety De Los Stones. I caught a hot one back in 94 , when we were at war with everyone except Sherman. Went to Guillen & Henderson when it was active af. Never made it to High school. Some of the oldest varrios come from El Segundo. Los Ortiz bros were active in Lower Valley as they were in Juarez. Puro Barrio Sandoval were deep in the westside. Some of my homies moved to the Westside Los Jackies apts. We beefed hard with Diablo & Sherman. Once time we seen 2 vatos walking by our varrio & we recognized them from being from Too Black Trece. They were strapped & my homie got shot in the arm. Another time we did a drive by on L×Ls & we got chased by the police, got pulled out 1 by 1 while the La Mosca the helicopter was up above with his light. My big homie doing state time now shot 2 vatos De Los Manors. An old homie MR. PONCE got killed in a bond fire in the late 80s by Los Wanderers. I got homies now that graduated to La Doble EMi, 1 or 2 a Los Texas Sindicato y nunca vienen al Chuco & a bunch of course de Barrio Azteca. I myself went to la corre TYC for about 6 balas & became a Sureno & now reside in Las. Un saludote a todos los Varrios de Aztlan.

I'm from Chicago, but been moving back, and forth from Chicago to EP since August 2018, and to be honest I always find myself missing it. I miss Chicago too when I'm in EP, but honestly EP is chill asf compared to Chicago. I'm sure y'all get down when it comes down to it, and you can hold your own just like the gangs out here, but I feel the gangs in general are more respectful than here in Chicago. Here I always tell whoever I'm walking with on the sidewalk to walk on the side closer to the home's while I walk closer to the street this way I can just get the bullet first if anything, and pretty much shield my friend's, or family with my body. I don't have to think like that when I'm in EP, and obviously that's a huge plus. Don't even get me started on colors, or what side you clock your cap. Anyway EP's pretty dope, and I hope to be back by the summer of 2023.

Thats whats up bro finally putting Chuco on the map. First and formal gotta give a shout out to the homie that filmed this and a big shout out to all acquaintances from EP. Now, im not here to tell war stories or to brag about how life was back in the early and late nineties but growing up in EP was hella skeptical and nerve wrecking. I lived 13 years in the Marmolejo projects so drive byes and all that gang activities, was normal. Then we moved to a small colonia name sparks where i graduated as a young, adolescentes, active member from the San Angel Gang and let me tell you.. till this day i still never seen that much violence on an everyday bases like i did when i grew up in EP. I live in phx where it has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes - from the smallest towns to the very largest cities.
