I got them both for free on the Epic store. While I found Surviving Mars WAY more difficult (the tutorial really doesn't help players like me who had never played this kind of games before), it was also considerably more light-spirited than Frostpunk. Frostpunk was somewhat manageable, but damn, making decisions in that world crushes your very soul. EVERYTHING you do will make someone unhappy. People will die in gruesome ways and EVERYONE will blame you for it. And you'll have to use more and more laws to fight off difficulties, slowly descending into darkness and instaurating a cannibalistic dictatorship which finds its power in a generator-based religion. In the end, I do have to say I still prefer Frostpunk, but damn it consumes you 😅

Oh man, such a small world. I knew this guy back in college. We weren't super close, but we worked on some projects together. He was such a genuine guy and absolutely hilarious. I remember in an acting class I volunteered for some parts, he did a scene that was so chillingly good it made the whole class silent. It's funny looking at an old crappy project I never finished that he was in I thought "I hope he's doing well." It's good to see you doing some cool things. I hope life is going well for you overall. Great video guys. This one was top quality, and it was nice to see it actually pop up in my feed like it's supposed to for once.

This was amazingly faithful to the game. The buildings look correct, the far from optimal dome layouts look plausible, the wheatgrass and the huge food-crates. Just.. wow. Only minor flaw, is that the green food-crates aren't bulky enough. In the game they are perfect cubes, with beveled edges. Also, one hungry colonist may grab and eat a whole box alone when desperate, and no grocer or diner are functional. If you ever do another Surviving Mars sketch, please include that. Also of renegades stealing random boxes for seemingly no purpose.
