From the 10 to 22 years old, I duck hunted on Butler & Champney Islands in the Altamaha River. The marshes along the GA coast are a beautiful place. I surely miss spending time down there.

My pawpaw taught me catch n clean squirrel. He said for every one I shot n cleaned, he'd give me 5 bucks. I went out Sunday morning and bagged 8. He was so proud... this is with a Crossman bb gun, with a cheap .22 scope... he's said " Great Job "! He gave me 12 bucks and said keep up the good work!

Similar story from my Papaw to me. I was 12. Grabbed his 20 gauge and set out with the last 5 shells we had. Brought back 6 squirrels. He brought that story up as often as he could.

1982, I stole a box of Barbeque shake&bake from my mama and went camping. Some of the best squirrel I ever ate! I love the taste of the tree rats to this day!

@Bluegabe ..Put a lightweight bipod on your fx impact airgun. Put the left leg down and hold it by that when shooting off hand. I designed the power plenum on that airgun and have a lot of experience with them. You'd be happier with it shooting slugs. They have about twice the energy downrange and shoot much flatter.

Growing up, my family enjoyed chicken pot pies. After a hunt, my mom made a homemade squirrel pot pie. Still one of my favorite meals to this day.

One health tip Gabe. Instead of using hydrocarbon accelarants to start a fire, use common rubbing alcohol. The former is linked to colon cancer by cooking meats over those coals. Excellent video!

Same here. I used to hunt and eat squirrel all the time in high school. One of the last times I was with my father, I had come home to visit (I was 31) and he had killed four squirrels and tossed them to me and said, "You remember how to clean a squirrel, don't you?" I did.

Crystal is so adorable. I miss being stationed at MCLB Albany, GA. The bow hunting wild hog stalking was amazing, the fishing was amazing, the woods was amazing, the people was so humble and fun to be around, and the women were gorgeous and didn't even know it.

My father got shot in Korea, same, scare size a dime in a big bite out looked like a grenade on his back . Lost his lung (1) patched up in the winter woods. You either made or died. Winter mountains.
