Thank you, Yvan. You just convinced me to push even more. Like I always say, you are the GURU of detailing, and now....GURU of business! Every time I listen to your videos my confidence builds more and more. I guess, even at the age of 59 we still learn...thank you, my friend! ☮

Excellent business advice!! I couldn't agree more. Especially answering the phone as opposed to "please listen to the following 5 menu choices" you've just lost multiple customers because of this.

I’ve taken day long seminars on how to answer a phone when I managed a call Center. It’s unfortunately becoming a lost art.

I own a detailing business here in the South and I was lowering my prices by about 20 - 25% to try to attract more customers. Thank you for this video because you're correct with everything going up including my supplies I need to be charging more! But this video also helped me to realize that I need to vastly improve my marketing my brand and my credibility. I'm currently sitting at 13 5 star reviews but I can definitely do more

Absolutely great video Mr Lacroix! I never thought of it in this mindset but it makes perfect sense! Watching DIY Detail I recall you telling nick that you had a rinseless in 8 to 10 minutes which versus a 30 minute rinseless is a huge raise in efficiency per say. We know what we're worth, our customers know what we're worth. We just tighten down the hatches so to speak

Thanks Yvan, sounds like my time to hunt down a great fixed location. I see more growth being able to provide shop services and products than strictly being a mobile detailer.

Great stuff Yvan. Your advice is good for all small businesses. I’ve had many over the years from landscaping to insulation contractor to farmer, I wish I’d known then what I know now and the things you say here. I always say: Take Positive Action, be proactive not just reactive. Plan for how you are going to make it. But also: have an exit plan: if your business begins to ‘fail’, don’t just throw money and time at it unless you have a plan to make it work, and have a plan for if you just CANNOT make it work instead of spending all your money and all your personal strength in a losing situation. It will take you less time to recover if you don’t ’run it into the ground’ but instead step away gracefully. Speaking from personal experience here. Then start again using everything you’ve learned to make your next enterprise the best one ever.

Thank you for finally talking about this unlike these other “KZbin detailers”. I brought this up to you 2 months ago and I’m glad to see someone finally telling the truth and willing to talk about it and not scared about their image or not getting views or losing subscribers. Do you still believe this is not as bad as 2008? Think it’s worst and we haven’t seen nothing yet, but that’s just my opinion. My advice is to save your money and if you do spend, spend it wisely and also depending on how much you have in the bank, you should think about getting a part time job just to keep money flowing And keep the business going. You have some great points and advice, but now it’s time to remove the training wheels and hold on tight cause it’s going to get bumpy.
@Detailers-Business-Academy2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think it will be as devastating as 2008, but its definitely not going to be a walk in the park for many.

Hey Yvan, this is a random question, but I know you're always on top of your comment responses! What are your thoughts on pricing detailing services as "$199" vs "$200"? I know that psychological pricing works wonders for grocery stores, but should this mentality be applied to a service such as detailing? How did you price things in your detail shop? Did you round up to a 00 number or 99, 95, etc? Thank you so much for doing what you do. You have single-handedly revolutionized our business just from your YT videos.
@Detailers-Business-Academy2 жыл бұрын
99 is my sweet spot, $4 more than 95, but psychologically much less than 100.

Love it! It's all true what you said. We 've raised prices and I've figured out in areas to be more efficient (profitable). There's big shops that have closed their doors here working the few months and we've capitalized on that because our work walks the walk. I know we can be can much better but For the most part we're taking two steps forward after one step back. Looking forward to hook up with you in SEMA. My crew wants to meet you. 🤙🏽

Hey Yvan, love your videos and perspective. I’ve got a couple questions after watching your videos. 1. Rotary/DA on upholstery. Can it get rid of bad stains? How effective is it? 2. Can I use ONR before the decontamination phase or should I use an actual stripping agent/soap? 3. Easiest/best place to dump dirty water?
@Detailers-Business-Academy2 жыл бұрын
Thank you 1 yes 2 no need for a stripping soap 3 a drain that’s connected to the water treatment plant.
