The atmosphere of the game is amazing. Probably the closest thing that Signs will get to an actual video game adaption. All that's missing is a video of an alien at a kid's birthday party. Also "Spoilers" ------ The ending could use a lot more fixing, though. I know that some games try and be artistic and clever with open-ended...endings...but this one really needed a conclusion to Ryan's story.

Working Theory: Throughout the game we hear that this is not the first time something like this has happened. We are also told the government will just cover it up. Keep in mind also that the only time we hear "proof" of life regarding Henry is a weird electronic "Dad" over Amy's radio, right before the comical exchange with Brandon. This is also the ONLY time we hear outgoing communication addressed to anyone from one on the ships. Also, remember we hear the dog get offed in the beginning, but then at the end we hear it come back while searching for Rachael in the cornfield. BUT, we never see the dog at that point (IGP even makes a comment on the idea that they are mimicking sounds to trick you). This would mean the "d.a.a.a.a.d" line is either Henry's last word's OR the Aliens trying to mimic Henry (who is now in a different condition, see below) in an attempt to lure Ryan in. Also, there is no sign of any experimentation on Rachael when she is found in the barn. Even though dialogue makes it seem like she was falling victim as well. She was never actually taken up into the ship. At the end Bob says "After Ryan was abducted his dog Max Came along". In the beginning we see something has happened to bob's cat but otherwise looks unharmed. Per the players ending Ryan is either in complete darkness on the ship getting no response from his son, or dead. But again shortly after Ryan is taken up his dog shows back up. We also see some cows are alive but others are skinned and their bodies left in the field. When Max runs away the "neck snap" sound IGP points out has other cracking/popping and even wet sounds going on as well. Almost like something being skinned. At the end both dog and cat seem normal (No glowing stuff, at least not anymore). What if the dog isn't actually Max anymore but Henry (Meaning the cat is also another person). Meaning the reason Ryan can't see anything when he wakes up is because his brain has yet to be put into a new body and Ryan is merely shouting in his own head, not realising that he is nothing more than a suspended brain waiting to be transplanted into a new host. Again, working theory.

I swear it sounds like the voices are done by AI. Like, theres a decently consistent quality between voices, but they're not making any normal sentence contractions that a person would make. Like, if there were real voice actors, they'd probably tell the script writer (whom English may not be their primary language), or make those changes on the fly, but if there were no VA's to tell them that and they were just plugging the lines into an AI voice generator, they'd get this level of uncanny valley of weird lines read by decent voice actors with stilted delivery

I liked the game, i just wish there was more of it, but i encountered a dumb bug near the end that if you enter the corn field with not enough bullets then you are essentially stuck there cuz the bat cant kill em and you need him dead to progress and even if i die i start at the gas station and i cannot go back to Brandons house to get more bullets so i am locked out from beating the game. They need to fix that by putting 2 bullets near the gas station. Otherwise i loved it and i wanna see Joel play this game next.

"Hey, there was JUST an invader in the house so lets leave my teenage son home alone while I go find a crazy guy." When characters don't respond rationally to a situation it really takes me out of any immersion. The aliens are small enough to punt. This game falls way short, but I still watch the video.

It definitely went full campiness. Ryan (appropriately) takes things seriously, but the rest felt closer to Mars Attacks! than War of the Worlds. I would have preferred even a bit more "what happened on the spaceship", but I worry the camp and seriousness would have had to clash at that point.. so it might be best that was left out. Still, it has this odd feeling of "end of chapter one", despite Bob's tone of finality in his full monologue (he talks more after Indie stops it).
