I think the apoc change was probably kind of a rushed attempt at preventing it from becoming too dominant. This was an OTA after all, so they couldn't really do much to the card text aside from maybe change the +4 to a +3, and doing THAT is a bit scary when 1. apoc is one of the only series 1 discard payoffs and 2. they didn't have a ton of time to test changes. Discard has never been a problem until now, so presumably, they never really considered tuning it down before. On the other hand, Thanos has been a problem for quite a while so presumably they've messed with some of the types of changes they could do to it in the past.

Why are you all so quickly wanting to nerf discard again with cards coming that will attack Dracula etc? Let’s allow the data mined cards to drop and see what that does.

I know you're thinking Red Guardian, and, to be honest, I'm not super hyped around him. The problem with him is that, imo he's too specific, which seems strange when he looks very generalist. He doesn't stop On Reveals and he doesn't take away power retroactively from cards like Nebula in the way Shadow King does, so he mostly seems to target Dracula, Ongoings, and maybe Jeff. Thing is, Rogue is just better at countering Ongoings than him, so that pretty much leaves Dracula and Jeff. That's not terrible, but it does strike me as too specific in it's application to warrant using a deck slot on.

I think its a theory, not a request for a nerf. Second dinner WILL hit discard if it is good for too long. I think they are just spitting ideas on how.

@@requiem9167yeah, I get it, it just always feel like the streamers are immediately calling for good decks to get squashed as soon as they climb to the top. As a big fan of discard I wouldn’t mind the reign lasting a little longer….but these guys play the game way more than I do.

Im guessing next imbalance patch will be based around the thunderbolts. Probably a buff for players ex amount of thunderbolts. Could be a strong deck

I hated the AvX event. Too many characters and too much to keep track of lest you lose 8 cubes to a random 3 Avengers bonus or something. As it only came up in 1 game out of 100 anyway I just ignored it and took the lumps in that one in 100 game. Great for the people who actively set out to build theme decks but if I got the bonuses during the event ever (including where it might have won me the odd game) it was pure happenstance. I liked the pairs imbalance patch - it was more discrete and didn't require so much memory space to track over very small bonuses.

Despite the nerf, MMM is still very good in this meta with Mockingbird, Swarms, Death, SheHulk, and Loki… etc And the fact that MMM is relevant now means decks without energy boost, namely Hope Summers, will clearly be at a disadvantage. As a F2P enjoyer this is really not a fun meta for me 😢

@@markusbosch2305 Speaking on behalf of most F2P gamers, we never expected the full experience as the others. We know for sure our Gold will be less, our CL will be lower, and we’d have fewer cosmetics to play with… As long as we can still enjoy winning some games through off-meta, home-brewed decks, or win through studying the meta well enough, we’d be happy and content! However, when a meta-defining, game-changing card is behind a pay wall, it feels like SD is saying “pay up or you lose most games” and it’ll give players even less incentives to spend money on the game. How can SD convince new players to join the game when most players ask the same question before installing: “Is it another P2W game?”

i tried playing old storm lockdown and got wrecked by C5 cap marvel 😂. then i tried playing a kingpin deck and got completely demolished by the stats of discard 😂 after that session i’m playing discard the rest of this season it’s so relatively above rate for points right now

Correcting: AvX didn't rock, just the X-Men really rocked 😂 because the Avengers... My god that was bad. The only time I've seen the Avengers bonus was when I created 3 hulks on Gamma Lab 😂

Do we think Thanos destroy could be the best version now? You still get your free Mockingbird bird but then also getting a very cheap death. Put skar back in and maybe knull as well

Imo, probably not. Thanos is probably still the best deck in the game, and the changes that happened to Thanos don't seem to change what type of deck he is. They pretty much just made Mockingbird slightly less consistently free and took off a single point of power on Psylocke, which doesn't strike me as severe enough to rock the boat.

@@michaelbesser5348 I agree. I just like to try and slightly edit main builds. Lockdown version is shot with War Machine coming out (atleast for a while, considering the character, I feel A LOT of people are picking him up) Destroy seems like a decent version, stones get MB out quick then death becomes cheap, with the energy cheat, maybe knull and Zola ramping at the top end. You can do some nasty things with energy and Destroy.

And with war machine coming out and being added into Thanos means we can play infinaut another big body added to the arsenal of Thanos… supposedly. Won’t officially know till he comes out.

Love how I just caught up and bought Cull Obsidian, finally having every Thanos card and then they nerf it again. Keeping up with the best decks in the meta is almost impossible.

Well, I have good news for you then. Lamby's tournament post-OTA had 6 out of the top 8 decks as Thanos. It's still early, but it seems like Thanos is still the best deck in the game from what we have so far.

3:40 Just because YOU (KM) only used Psylocke in Thanos does not mean that nobody else had any other use for her. And before you say "Oh but the meta", The only reason the meta is the way it is IS BECAUSE content creators like you tell people what they should be doing. If you say Psylocke only gets used in Thanos, well people will take that to mean "Oh okay, I should only use Psylocke in Thanos". Too many people in this community don't want to think for themselves. For example, how many people are still running Wave in Electro decks? Why? MMM is running rampent, why on earth would you waste that card slot? Just use Psylocke. You hold onto her until turn 3 if you don't get Electro OR turn 4 in order to play a 6 cost on 5. It takes patience and a bit more planning but at least your opponent doesn't benefit from having their 6 cost reduced as well.. And I guarantee if you or other content creators made a video about that, people would start auto swapping their Wave for Psyloche without a moments thought. Now my only real issue here, is not that they nerfed Psylocke in and of itself... its that of all the cards they could have nerfed OR BUFFED, they focused their resources on that card when it was completely unnecessary (especially with the Mind Stone nerf) and we only ever get a handful of changes a month. Second Dinner NEEDS to be smarter with their changes. Like giving Adam Warlock an extra power... are you kidding me?! Who's braindead idea was that? The problem of him being a 5 cost still exists. If these devs are happy to waste their own time like that, I'm never going to run defense for them. "Oh our changes are locked in a month ahead of time" Oh really? You have a month to sit on a bad change and you still give it the green light? Meanwhile they had no problem removing Firestar nearly last minute before the new season started a few months back... I guess that wasn't locked in....
