Hey Susan, Let me tell you my story, if I may. 20 years ago, I needed help with translation, it was the early days of the Internet and no Google translator. So, I found a translation site and found someone who spoke that language, Turkish to be exact. I'm English! She also needed help, and for one year we helped each other, passing the odd sentence about our day and enquiring for each others families. Then, i didn't need her help and stopped. However, I kind of missed her and one day decided to chat with her. We chatted for hours and hours and then after one year, we exchanged photos!.. She was stunning! However most of all she was sweet, caring and considerate. I decided to visit her and booked a ticket to visit her in Turkey. I came for two weeks. Three months later I was still there! We fell deeply in love. We faced comments from others about our cultural differences, our different religions, our suitability. However, we always had the full support from our families and closest friends. We married after one year, that was 18 years ago, I can honestly say, she is my soul mate. She always says that we complete each other, she is right. So, forget the haters, forget the negativity, follow what you want and what you believe in. In my opinion, they don't hate you, they hate what you have with your boyfriend and unfortunately they lack the social skills to obtain that. ... Today is our wedding anniversary :)

I'm very sorry, Ms. Raymond (I don't know you well enough to call you "Susan"). There will always be those who will say horrible things about other people. Especially when the ones doing the saying can hide behind computer screens and anonymity. This is why online bullying exists (I was bullied as a child; thankfully this was before the Internet existed, but having it done to you in-person isn't worse than having it done to you online -- it's just as bad). They can do it whenever they want, wherever they want, whyever they want, and however they want. And no one can track them down and make them responsible for the consequences of their words. They feel immune and empowered to do as they wish while they're online. (I wonder if the online bullies have considered the fact that that they would never have been born if their parents didn't love each other and want to start a family. And if they've ever thanked their parents for giving birth to them, loving them, and raising them as best they could.) My own online experience of bullying (thankfully I don't remember it being any worse than this): I remember being on a website about 10 years ago or so, and was really enjoying being there. The people were nice to me, I was nice to them. It was like having a place online that felt like home, a place that made me feel welcome, that let me part of their online "family". Then some anonymous user started insulting me. Not just once, every single day or what felt like every single day. I haven't been back to that website since then. The anonymous user probably thinks they won. They didn't. I simply chose not to continue to be bullied by them. I chose to find somewhere else where people can treat each other with honesty, decency, respect, and intelligence. (Btw, that website I haven't been back to? They never once apologized or did anything to stop the insults. Whether the anonymous user is still there or not, I could care less.) "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." There is a man in this world who loves you and thinks you're beautiful. And you, in return, love him and think he's beautiful. You're very happy when you're together. For me, that's all that matters.
