This has also happened to me but in the opposite effect. I’ve had people walk by me or have pushed by me angrily. When I confronted them, only then, did they learn I’m profoundly deaf. Sometimes,guilt hits their faces,other times, they have a look of disgust towards learning a person is deaf.

i agree maybe a shorter one like 4 seconds , and personally i would use the phone as a Transaction. but all in all it was fun to watch the actors faces and their reactions.

if your up for it, heres a bit of criticism i get the racism angle and I do like it but 1. the guy could have just called out "miss" instead of walking spooky and at her pace, something he wouldn't do if he wanted to return the phone, which makes me think more "oh he couldn't use dialogue so he did this" rather than be invested in the story. 2. her being racist changes nothing. he doesn't smash her phone because of her response or even react, she barely does too and she doesn't look embarrassed at all. 3. this is more a situation than a short scene, no one changes or makes a decision. 4. the flashback is completely unnecessary, we got it. forgetting a phone is not a hard concept to grasp especially when there was no other reason he could have handed her the phone (considering the situation)

well filmed and paced but transparent and lack of talking does make him suspicious. perhaps revisit this scene with same actors and turn male into a victim

Self preservation isn’t a bad thing at all. If someone came behind me like that I’d scream and run. If I’m over reacting, we’d have a good laugh after Also. I hate it when people sit by me on a bench when they are many or on the bus especially when it’s very empty.
