I love how old GH made it a point to include the supporting cast members in many scenes. Dan Rooney, Steve Hardy, Jessie, Lila Quartermaine. They had no storylines of their own, but they added such a richness to the show.

The show just can't afford to do that now. Their budget is so small compared to the 80's. Most of the actors are now on a recurring contract and the show only has to pay them when they are onscreen. That is why Genie left in 2018 for 9 months, she refused to go on a recurring contract. Thank goodness GH listened to us fans and signed her to a real contract.

Yes GF / Laura did if you want to go any deeper TG/Luke did say that GF/Laura was his total acting soulmate both being the actress she played and the friendship off set! I was just wondering where did it all go? My only wish is for them to hopefully mend there fence’s before life come’s to an end! Sorry JMVHO. There has never been another daytime couple to match TG and GF. Many soaps have tried to imitate, but never matched the success of this wonderful couple. Any interview I've seen has shown the respect they have for each other. The chemistry would never have lasted decades if that weren't true. I loved both of them way back to the beginning and I love them still. Thanks so much to @Sussezq for the chance to watch it all again. Makes me so happy! ❤

@@kathylanda681 Actually it makes me happy that even though Luke and Laura did not have a reunion, Genie and Tony did. Since 2016 both have been very praiseworthy of the other. Tony has said that Genie was the best and she would always be his acting soulmate. Likewise, Genie has said that she learned so much from Tony and that she would always love him. Tony is also a fan of Genie's husband and loves watching him in the Star Trek series. There are pictures of the three of them together.

I never really cared much for Rick, but Leslie was always a favorite character of mine. She's written to be funny, smart and caring... Just the qualities we'd all like our moms to have.... Also the conversations between Luke and Slick are a riot! LOL!

Yes thank you I said the same thing myself many times before. I love there sparks there true blue tenderness. Oh there funny comedy and most loving romance when they are together. I think Hollywood studios messed up big time by not signing these two up for a series of movies. Kind of like the Indiana Jones movies, with romance, adventure and comedy. They had the opportunity when both left the show at the end of 1983. They were so well known that they wouldn't have needed the Luke and Laura tags. In 1983 Genie Francis and Tony Geary were so well known 30 million people would have flocked to their movie on opening night/

I can that moment when Bobbi was in Luke's office in the disco. Luke was telling Bobbi about the pictures of Laura he keeps on his desk in a index box and said I love you Bobbi but if you ever think of hurting Laura I can hate you just as easily. Bobbi stared at Luke and knew right then he was in love with her.

Thanks for the background. Although I've watched pretty much all of the clips from the Frank Smith era that sort of filled in what I missed back in the 70s/80s, I haven't seen any complete clips of the conversation L&L had on the hill when she tossed his keys and the aftermath of that, so I wasn't sure where all the hate came from.

cococandykiss Well all I can say about hat is to his. Bobbie was angry with LauraBobbie blamed Laura for just about everything that went down at that time. If you know what I know it was a sears of bad circumstances which no one could see coming for all of them. ...but in retrospect only crossing our fingers or holding our breath that this craziness works out for all who are concern...happily. Bobbie feels like Laura stole Scotty. Then they kind of became friends when Laura started working at the disco for Luke. Bobbie was dating Roy Deluca who was Lukes partner at the disco & Frank Smith asked Luke to kill Mitch Williams Luke was realy upset & Laura threw his keys over a hillside which made Roy try to kill Mitch but Roy was shot instead. Once Bobbie found out why Roy was there instead of Luke she blamed Laura for Roy's death.

Good for Leslie putting Rick in his place. Although in my head I can hear my mother saying, "If the dog gets out of the fence, it will always get out of the fence so don't make it your dog." LOL I can only be okay because Rick and Leslie are characters. Besides, I loved that quadrangle of them, Alan and Monica. Anyway, I'm glad Laura told Leslie. I'm also glad she and Bobbi got things straight.

I should add too that Bobbie knew that Luke raped Laura but she never really thought it was rape, she thought Laura wanted it and thought that it was wrong that Laura accused him of rape instead of an affair.

@sussezq I agree, funny how when two people have so much chemistry on screen that people think there's something going on behind the scenes. There's a couple like that now and people always say soemthing is going on when both actors are married, but it's acting, friendship & mutual respect just like you started with TG & GF.

You are welcome. I agree w/you Laura has more reason to hate Bobbie. Anything that Bobbie hated Laura for was truly unintentional. Bobbie tried to get Laura sent back to reform school while she was on probation for the David Hamilton murder. Bobbie continued scheming w/Luke but I am not entirely sure Laura ever found out about those times. Maybe you or Sus know that?? Also, Bobbie faked a pregnancy saying it was Scotty's. As we have seen thru the yrs, Laura is a very forgiving person.

That's right! I forgot all about the fact that Laura never was told nor discussed the fact that Luke did the things he did to try and get her in trouble. Those would have been some interesting scenes.

There is a moment in 2001 where he is drugged up from Helena, and his mind is stuck in the past, and he asks Bobbie in front of Laura if she remembers the time he messed up the car for Bobbie so Laura would be out past curfew, and Bobbie says, "yeah, you backed me up", but we never see Laura's reaction, or get any further discussion on it. You have to figure that somewhere along the way in their relationship there was full disclosure.

Ok I for one don’t know what went down with either one? I do know that GF did married JF in 1988. Plus TH was living with somebody or was still going with or having a affair with ET I am not sure? But as far as I know TH said on a interview that GF and him were just friends because he did not date young women. GF was too young for him anyway. GF’s birthday is 5-1962 and TG’s is 5-1947 so what 15 years apart? I really don’t know if there were will I would have to say in pure honest that, that is there own beeswax thank you Rosie.sorry TG was living with somebody sorry that is what I meant thank’s.

I think TG cared deeply about GF, and felt protective of her. I do think it's possible that She was a little hung up on him, simply because GF was so young and inexperienced. Whatever, it sure was magic on screen!

Yyyyyeeeesss..all hardwood floors. . Luke and Laura's apartments and the docks. The violin in the restaurant, although it was romantic and touching, he was too close to them trying to talk, and a little bit loud.

Couldn't this whole thing been avoided if Edward just asked Lila for the statue before the actual auction? Couldn't Edward have just gone to the police station himself and just tell the clerk his wife needed it back for pictures? lol I'm just not getting why Luke has to jump through all these hoops when Alex and Edward could have easily stepped in and come up with an excuse to get it from the holding room before all this. This storyline is so illogical and dumb. PS: Luke and Laura finally getting it all out is great!

The reason it had to be done like this was for the fun of it, of course! Just getting from the police would have been soooooooooo boring. This way also lengthens the story and gets us closer to the adventure to come.
