@loke6664
@loke6664 6 ай бұрын
I think Velma was only saved because no one could watch all the episodes. You can't put it on a list if you didn't watch the entire show, right? Nah, I think he just forgot it. The Witcher season 3 was terrible but Velma was worse, And yeah, I think a comedy without any humor whatsoever is the worst thing you can create. Even the dumbest action flicks filled with political messages can at least have a couple of action scenes that are slightly entertaining to watch (and sometimes it gets unintentionally funny) but when you fail comedy you really fall flat. Velma tops my list for worst media 2023 and it is not even a competition. Not only is it not funny at all, the mystery have less story and is way more stupid then anything from any other Scooby episode. If a 20 minute episode have more story then you have for 10 episodes together, you are doing something wrong. Also, it had 7% audience score last I checked, lower then anything on this list by far.

I've said this for a while now: the best example of a natural "girl boss" is Sigourney Weaver as Ripley in the Alien franchise. She was not only feminine and caring with the young girl Newt, but she was brave and skilled. All these new "girl bosses" are just shoehorned, man-hating, insufferable nags.

Right!? It’s so ridiculous to change everything about an established character because you’re worried about portraying a disabled person as evil…as though the public will relate the two things 🤦🏼‍♀️ For one (as you said) no-one was thinking that anyway and for two, what’s wrong with thinking a disabled person is evil? Disabled people are just as varied in personality as anyone is…they’re just people who happen to have a disability. They have just as much ability and potential to be evil as anybody does. To think they don’t have that capacity says more about the writers than the public as you pointed out

I did spend a lot of time wondering what exactly is going on with modern entertainment. Namely: WHY? Why the woke stuff? I genuinely think that literally, the only people permitted any real creative influence are either too old or too young: They're either social media-powered youth or old people directed by social media-obsessed youth to stay relevant - since left-leaning politics is currently far more dangerous, the psychopathic higher-ups go with that. Being nice, talented or dedicated is meaningless against the overpowering force of "diverse" politics. It's mob rule. Do what we say or we'll hurt you. But it will come full circle, it's just these people can't bring themselves to accept defeat. They'll go down mumbling and shuffling like a child giving a fake apology to get what they want.

My wife never saw The Matrix so we watched it last night. It struck me that there was a time when you could go into a theater and get blown away by a cinematic masterpiece that had no political message or agenda....just a great story. That don't seem to exist anymore, evidenced by the fact that the 2 biggest movies of last year were Barbie and Super Mario Bros.. Both of which would have been barely noticed Saturday matinee movies 20 years ago.

the doctor who nosedive is so painful. i grew up watching it and it took that "agenda" route completely out of nowhere. the whole show, it was about how the doctor was brilliant and well-traveled, but how his human companions (often women) always brought something to the table that he didnt have/couldnt see, and that ultimately resulted in their success. at least thats how i remember it. the whole "men bad, step aside so the queens can rule" trope nowadays really ruins a lot of movies/tv shows, i hope we get some competent, well-meaning people back into making movies.

When the dr was going to be a woman, I was asked what I thought and my response was "If the writers treat her as THE doctor, then it'll work just fine. If the writers treat her as a WOMAN who happens to be the dr, then it'll cause considerable damage." And they went for the latter. I stopped watching a few eps into her run. Seeing what they've done now, with Donna, with Davros, with all of it - makes me want to weep. Way to destroy something amazing guys. Great job. And then I watched the rest of the video. Gag.

At least a majority of the shows and movies on this list are watchable to a certain extent and considered “entertainment,” no matter how pandering. Velma is an encapsulation of everything horrible about the modern world we live in, meaning that it’s so bad that it’s less of show and more of means of physical and mental torture, made by hateful people. Because of that, I think it’s best that it’s left completely forgotten about.

i honestly cant get why anyone thought Velma was a good idea. There are 2 main groups of Scooby fans: adults who grew up watching it and kids who are it's current age demographic. The series is aimed at adult fans so that rules out the first half of their fan group and adult fans of the show are people who like the old versions of the show, like Scooby himself, and like the overall goofy, campy vibe of the old shows. Velma not only sharply deviates from the original but actively mocks the older fans of the show and goes out of its way to mock and deride men in general, white people in general, and especially cis white men. That makes little sense though since even if you're not white and not a cis male then you're unlikely to find the mockery towards white people and men very funny since the show doesnt even really do it in a humorous manner, they're just straight up mean spirited about it. Also it's doubly stupid since actively mocking and clowning fans of the original losses them _many_ if not _most_ of their potential fan base, and at least based off some common sense the series being originally a 60s and 70s animated american show that's still widely popular in the US you'd assume the fanbase is majority white. The series seems to be made to mainly pander to people who are not white, not cis male, who hate white people and/or cis males, and who dont like any past versions of Scooby Doo but are also not children... which cant exactly be a large market for an American adult animated series, especially considering most non-american viewers are likely to watch it mainly due to name recognition, ie fans of past Scooby shows.

Velma just isn't big enough. Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Dr Who these were beloved huge IPs. Velma is horrid, but it's not likely to affect Scooby Doo even if some normal human wanted to do something with it. Velma is inconsequential.

All of the Leftist/marxist activists in hollywood won't stop , they will just back off a little bit to make us think they are sorry and then ramp it up in a couple years because they are fanatics who want to destroy and then remake the world no matter what, even it it costs them billions, they are so wealthy that they can afford it and brainwashing us is just too big a dream to abandon.

You are literally just repeating the same comment that everyone else is saying. It's cringey and pathetic, you're desperate to get likes. I hate that saying "this is better than that thing it's about" is now a meme or some kinda "meme" compliment. What the actual f*ck is wrong with the modern language.

Snow White would work if it wasnt disney remaking their own movie. Snow White: A Tale of Terror also had a strong, independent Snow White and a group of renegades instead of dwarfs and it was fantastic. Also, I LOVE your background music, it was exciting to hear some of my favorites.

@@ragnarok6521 Odd you went to WW2 being that is “Heil”. Hail can be used to cheer, SALUTE or welcome. I’m gonna assume welcome wasn’t the intent as welcoming him to what? His comment section? Could be cheering him on, which I’d argue there are FAR more relevant ways to cheer him on. It’s probably known from its use in history “Hail Caesar!” A verbal salute. Being that the “woke virus” scare you folks so much, I don’t get why you focus on it so much. Don’t pay or buy it and there you go. End of tirade. Maybe learn your history. My heart just broke at Doctor Who, I didn’t know they did that to William….he’s crucial to Doctor who, that’s just heart breaking and to what they did to Tennant, they should’ve just brought back his evil clone and had the two off each other, where both the Doctor and the Evil Doctor finally die and meet their end, Valeyard is still kicking and around, the Doctor can’t defeat him on his own, the master had to help last time bc he was scarier than even the master himself! They should’ve brought him back and killed David’s Doctor off completely by making the two finally end their big battle, but they screwed the pooch…..

That is why there are 6 in this countdown, with the rest of Woke Hollywood itself being the biggest disaster of all. Mindy Kaling's Velma, the pretentious strike to win over a shrinking audience, Rachel Zegler, Disney pushing away its audience and employees for bad and stupid reasons...there are just so many moving parts and systematic problems and so much drama to unpack here. Without smart KZbin channels to criticize their every move, failed entertainment would never feel so entertaining. I still do not want it to continue forever because we want more talented people to be hired and make hiring decisions necessary to make better films and shows that we used to have and love! If there is any such rule in Hollywood against creatives who are talented _and_ diverse, who added that rule?
