I always imagine Superman guiding a falling plane to safe landing by holding it underneath; but when he tries to grab the plane the metal rips off and he has to scramble around finding a structural point strong enough to hold the plane by. The penguin looks OK, promising but personally not too excited about it. We've already had a lot of penguin story arcs in Gotham. Sure, penguin is part of the main villain line up, but it's the penguin. My opinion , comic superhero shows should primarily be superhero shows , not melodrama/drama that you can easily mistake as another genre if you just change the title. This one looks like a show about gangsters. Gotham wasn't quite a superhero show but it was about the superhero character getting to where he ends up, much like smallville. Shows like this don't have that feel. Again, not the DC show I'm waiting for. Won't regret it if I end up not watching it I have to say.
