Suzanne is so brilliant, she is one of those 80s ladies who paved the way for the 90s ladies, such as Sheryl Crow, Jewel, Alanis Morissette and even Tori Amos ( and I love the ladies I mentioned )

Poe is another (criminally) lesser-known artist from the mid-'90s in whom I hear a HEAVY Vega influence; particularly the more trip-hop catalog.

Love this song and haven't listened in awhile. I forgot how beautiful Suzanne looked in this video, sultry looks that matched the voice. Definitely a forgotten 90's gem.

I like the reference to the movie Pulp Fiction at 1:45.The people are dancing like Travolta and Thurman in the dance scene. There is a deleted scene in Pulp Fiction where Vincent Vega admits Suzanne Vega is his cousin.

Absolutely Stunning - Love this video - Just watching it reminds me of this beautiful young lady I was seeing ! - Who looked in hind sight very much like Suzanne Vega ! - She too had her quirkiness (which I also loved) - I nevers saw her wearing Jeans - Never ! - She was always wearing a dress or a skirt - a female suit or maybe pegs always stylish ! always ! - But never Denim (that was work wear) - I would have married that amazing young lady at the drop of a hat - I really would - But the fate that thrust us both together - Also tore us apart ! Thankyou for showing this fab video ! Bringings those memories back for me - With that great piece of music ! -Thanks

The sad part is, we tend, as humans, to not know the genius we see in front of us, right now. We have to wait till they're dead for hundreds of years...crazy we humans, and always will be.

Also: Suzanne Vega had a lot of attention during the “height” of her career. 99.9Fdegrees was a very well received album when it was released in 1992, which was around 4 years before this song and video. 99.9Fdegrees was also a commercial success. She also had a big hit with “Left of Center” 6 years before the album 99.9, which was featured in an old ‘80’s movie. In the middle of those successes, she had Tom’s Diner and Luka. So really: Between 1986 and around 1996 or so, Vega had a very successful career critically and commercially, and she was loved by her fans. I was born in 1971, so I should have been one of her fans at the time, but didn’t really start listening to her till around 2005, which is when I went back and discovered her old stuff. She continued to make albums well after 1996, all of which seem to be highly-acclaimed critically. I think that many people would say she had a perfect career, because she made music she wanted to make, it was loved by fans and critics, but she never got so famous that she had to have a weird life. That said: I believe she once had a stalker.

My brother committed suicide last weekend by overdosing on something. He was found with headphones on, presumably listening to something. This is his youtube account. He made a playlist containing 6 songs that was edited the day he passed. This is one of the 6 songs. With the method he used, he was dead after about 30 minutes, probably unconscious around 12 minutes. I like to think that it was peaceful for him with his music on. I love you Myles, I'll miss you everyday for the rest of my life.

Really Different and in the best way EVER - It Should in my opinion went Platinum, Radio Stations,... For Most Groups don't play a lot of songs that many artists do That could of went Gold #1 I Feel it's a Huge rip on the Artists, it's not right the stations just play those 1, 2 or 3 songs and no hardly hears the others - So Please ladies & Gents,... Ante up. And don't be shy. Who is that man who is catching my eye? What's underneath all of the deadpan face? Sitting so pretty with a criminal grace? Lamebrain Pete wants to Spit in the Sea. He's got a cool hand but it isn't for me. Butcher Boy thinks he'll be splitting the pot. But I've seen what he's got and it isn't a lot. (When deuces are wild you can follow the queen. I'd go too except I know where she's been.) I'll see you, I'll call you, I'll raise you But it's no cheap thrill It will cost you, cost you, cost you Anything you have to pay. I limit the straddles, and you shuffle and deal. When will the dealer reveal how he feels? Is the lucky beginner just a five-card stud? Is this winning streak going to be nipped in the bud? I'll see you, I'll call you, I'll raise you But it's no cheap thrill It will cost you, cost you, cost you Anything you have to pay. I'll match you, I'll bet you, I'll play you, But it's no cheap thrill It will cost you, cost you, cost you Anything you have to pay.

okay i take issues with the expressions coment, yes her expression is similar, but that's becasue she dosent go for the blatently obvious changes in expresions, it's more a subtel facial expression to help set the mood, and honesly i don't blame her, singing with a huge smile on your face is a PAIN i know!
