And if so, what is the procedure? We file it to softness or leave it rough after the acrylic base? Thank you!

Hmmmm i dont believe the acrylic would adhere to the polish well- if you want to preserve a colour, i would choose a coloured acrylic 😀

Joana M. S. It sounds like you just need a simple gel top coat and an LED lamp to cure it. You treat it the same as any other top coat, paint it on, then cure it.
