Suzuki DF140 Tilt/Trim Limit sensor replacement and reprogramming

This outboard was having some weird quirks with the tilt and trim, The trim sensor was sending erratic readings to the ECU which was causing it to stop moving randomly.
A replacement sensor is not hard to install, but does require a lot of cowling to come off in order to route the wires. After the sensor is installed, the trim limits will need to be reset.

Hi Tom, thanks you for your video. On mine (SUZ DF250) it do not work.. maybe something is wrong when i try to do reset Maximum trim level

If I'm thinking correctly the 250hp engines have a different style limit switch where the cam that triggers it is adjustable, and it works independently of the gauge sensor (which still handles the down limit)

Very useful thanks a lot! Any advice on how to turn off the check engine warning light after changing the sensor? I keep gettin the 3 - 7 code

Is it possible the cam went back on in the wrong position or something? that code indicates the sensor is outside the expected range, so it should have gone away when you put the new sensor on.
