I have Jimny tyres on my Volkswagen Caddy van. I got them for free when my cousin upgraded to the size you got. I'm happy with them. My original size was 195/65r15. Now it's 195/80r15. Haha

Unsure about the rim size but thats my tyre size on stock suspension nothing touched but it was close to the front bumper on full lock.

No, You have to change the bracket. I didn't change the spare from 195.

Hi, I'm planning the 5 door version and will probably fit the 215s' instead of the 195s' I had the 215s' on my Gypsy as well. Did your 215s' before installing the lift kit caused any problem? Or did they touch anywhere on the inside or the body?

Pardon my stupidity. But isn't the new tyre profile of 75 lower than the stock 80 profile. I understand the width from 195 to 215 but how cam this give you more ground clearance? BTW great video

Thank you for comment. The profile is in % of the width. 195 x 80 = 156 and 215 x 75 = 161. Easier to use the calculator and see the specs.

I kept exact same rim size. In South Africa theres not many choices for Jimny. Im unsure on 16 inch but I know if you go too big you affect the speedometer.

I have done the 40mm lift kit after I upgraded the tyres and ran on stock for a few months with no problems. I think on stock suspension 235 75 15 will rub on the bumper on full lock. I remember the gap on my 215 75 15 being really close to some parts of the body. In the video I reference to a website to check the wheel diameter for upgrades against stock size. The difference in diameter from stock (195 80 15) for my upgrade (215 75 15) is1.5%. Stock vs your upgrade (235 75 15) will be 5.9%. I also have a digital speedometer GPS and tested against the actual analog speedometer and the readings are exactly the same on (215 75 15). I'm unsure on your size (235 75 15) resulting in 5.9% increase in diameter by how much it will affecting the speedometer but maybe someone on the Jimny community can advise if they have the same setup.

Congratulations and welcome Jimny family. 🤗 I'm really looking forward to seeing a Jimny 5 door on the road. I still have not found any technical info on the 5 door suspension. If Suzuki didn't change much then maybe the 3 door suspension kit will fit. In any case you can still do a lot with the stock Jimny until you figure out what you want out of your vehicle.

It decreased my fuel consumption slightly. If you are trying to decrease your fuel consumption install a throttle controller. I have a video on my EVC throttle controller.

@@lifeafterthirty I don’t have a Jimny. I am still thinking about purchasing one but the feedback on fuel consumption has been very negative. There is talk about them introducing a smaller engine with turbo soon to meet European emissions regulations. I was going to wait for that before pulling the trigger. Do you have a link to that video?

I agree that its not the most fuel efficient vehicle. With its poor aerodynamics and non turbo charged engine you cant expect it to be fuel efficient. Our actual reading on the Jimny now is 11.5km/l or 8.69l/100km. Our 2020 Mercedes benz B200 averaged about 7.3l/100km. If you consider that the B200 was a turbo charged 1300cc engine refined German Technology the Jimny is not that bad. See link to throttle controller kzbin.info/www/bejne/m53Ie5iDltKsn5Y . You can set it to eco mode and will definitely get you better results than above. Hope this helps.

@@lifeafterthirty Those are quite horrendous fuel consumption stats for a vehicle that size, weight and engine size. I will be using it as a daily driver and I live on a place where fuel is expensive so it’s almost a deal breaker for me. Are your consumption figures before or after installing the throttle controller?

As a daily and if you intend on high mileage I agree its heavy on fuel. Also note that average was mostly high way driving. Those figures are after the throttle controller. If I set the controller to ECO mode I will probably get 13km/l. Price of fuel in South Africa PER LITER ZAR 22.035 EUR 1.234 USD1.216

At first I wanted to remove the spare wheel cover and buy a 5th Rim but then changed my mind to rather have our channel branding on the wheel cover. I will then apply all the stickers for modifications and accessories on the spare wheel cover. 😃 I will need to purchase a spare wheel and tyre in any case then we can test the looks. 😎🙌
