Jimny was launched too late in India, who knows maybe it's time of production will end and will be taken over by new generation which is all unnecessary gimmicks and features. When it's gone we will miss it dearly.

The previous generation Jimny (JB33/JB43) was in production for almost 2 decades from 1998 till 2018 without major changes. It was not available in India though. The present Jimny (JB74) also will have a life span in India of minimum 5 to 7 years or even more before a replacement is launched. The three door version launched in 2018 still attracts a huge waiting period in most of the International markets.

Yes it is a Suzuki Jimny, but the parent company in India is still named Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) and it will remain the same as a good portion of shares still belongs to Maruti Udyog Ltd. I am used to calling all the Suzuki vehicles in India a Maruti ever since I started talking 😄. So it is just a slip of tongue.

The Jimny is wider and taller than the Gypsy. Only the overall length is slightly shorter than Gypsy. Even the wheelbase of Jimny is longer than that of Gypsy.

Jimny is not everyone's cup of tea. It is only for those who understand the value of a 4x4 with front solid axle and is comfortable enough for family use. Jimny was never a full size SUV. All the generations of Jimny was known for its compact size and capabilities
