I work at a Suzuki Dealership and the 800DE rides exceptionally well. The engine and gearbox work really well together especially with the quick shifter. I do wish it was a bit better looking in the front end but riding it is a great experience. I’m looking forward to the off road review.

I think this bike is a sleeper in this segment that just might turn out to be a giant killer in the way the modified DR650 is a go to bike for the dual sport/ADV weekend warrior. Value and versatility might not be what we lust after but it's what many end up buying.
@krazed0451 Жыл бұрын
Zero chance if it rides even remotely like a Strom 650. It's a tar pig capable of some gravel.

The tank is low and wide. It carries the fuel across the frame/engine and some fuel below the top of motor. The steering head is low as well. Hell of a lot different than our T700's. Well thought out as opposed to a machine adapted to a different design use. The screen and simple control is very welcome. Good job Dave and Andrew. From east Kentucky USA see you next time.

Very, very interesting bike. Looks like it's a very good middleground between the Tuareg's offroad performance and the touring capability of something like the Norden 901 (standard). It's just a shame about the missing cruise control. I bet Suzuki will remedy that in the next model year.
@JW-cq4ez Жыл бұрын
This is an adventure bike. The optional higher wider touring screen looks promising as well. And Priced lower than Yamaha tenere world raid (here in sweden) 124.000 sek vs 154.000 sek. This is better equipped, good shocks, and airbox is easy to reach, a good-sized fuel tank. This bike has good value! 👍

Accessing the air filter on new bikes seems so overly complex these days. My 35 year old Honda XLV 750 requires one screw to be removed from the plastic air filter cover on the top of the petrol tank. The lid just pops out of a rubber grommet. A quarter turn of the air filter element and it pulls straight up and out. The most time consuming part of accessing the XLV’s air filter is getting the screw driver out of your tool kit. Sorry Suzuki and Desert X lovers, just thought I’d ruffle a few feathers 😂

How much are you being paid by Suzuki....? Please...the specs on this bike are poor to average at best...the weight is ridiculous, yes specs aren't everything, but dollar for dollar it just doesn't compete. It's like a KLR 650, but a bit better in all categories...Ive test ridden this bike and that is exactly how I would assess it. Underwhelming performance and way too heavy...suspension is only just a bit better than stock T7 so please stop drinking the Suzuki cool aid and get real.
