He had a hard time dealing with any criticism, always complaining about it, to the point where he faked an explosion during the build, made it sound like he had suffered a major brain injury, and let that go on for a couple days. A lot of people were worried about him and started donation campaigns, only to then find out it was 'just a joke'. This obviously bothered a lot of people, and when they got upset, his ever-growing ego took over and he turned on anyone that wasnt 'on his side', and started banning anyone that mentioned it. He gave a half-arsed apology that clearly wasnt really an apology, then eventually took down all the videos about the explosion, trying to save face, when he saw his subscriber count and financial help start dropping. It already looks like it's sitting too low and listing at the dock. That thing is toast in big seas. I loved watching this project until Doug turned into a real a-hole when anyone had an opinion. I think it happened around the time they played that explosion joke.

@@1bcordell I watched Dougs channel not regularly. He is a pompous ass at times, doesn't listen to advice. I always had in my mind his dream boat didn't have enough floatation. The way she is sitting know so stern heavy she is going to porpoise like crazy. There is not a whole lot of freeboard left on the stern those port holes will never keep a big the water out. His dream boat might be becoming his worst nightmare.

what's with the hole topside at the bow there? I don't get that shitty design. that's also a HUGE doghouse! better keep this thing in somewhat sheltered waters. yeah a 74 footer doesn't even need a doghouse, period. I sailed on a similar sized steel double ender ketch back in the 60's and it had NO doghouse. none! it didn't even have an engine either. This thing looks more like a motor sailer, not an offshore cruising boat.

@@DavidCAdams Actually no. The boat has an admitted design flaw causing it to both list athwartship, and draw more water aft. Moving those few pipes did very little. They brought another ton or two of lead weight and stuffed it into the port fuel tanks to compensate. They ditched the poorly designed "Love Me Tender" to try and raise the aft, but the boat still sits 10" low. This is what you get with a non naval architect designer and a garage hack who built it.
