SVS is at it again, this time replacing their flagship SB and PB-16 Subwoofers with a new 17" version. Shipping as the SB-17 (sealed) and PB-17 (Ported), these are the most potent subwoofers SVS has ever created. They have several nifty features, including several firsts, so definitely check out our video and see what they have to offer!
Note, in the video 8Hz was mentioned as low-end output of the PB17. SVS says that 12Hz is more likely the best conservative spec for the ported version of the sub. The sealed SB17 version is better listed at 15Hz.

One subwoofer or four? I use 4 SVS SB-3000. Smooooooooooth tight bass for music and fast attacking bass for movies! Zero bass lag, instant fast bass for perfect music listening.

@@arielrodriguez6980 👍👍. Honestly, I think you’d turn off auto EQ and just let Dirac do its thing. The auto EQ is best for systems where other bass EQ isn’t involved.

I got 4 subs 2 sb16 ultras up front and 2 sb4000s in the rear . The 2 rear subs are near field so i feel all punches.

@@sonnieparker6282 I literally purchased red flashing lights that are meant for bikes and strapped them onto my rig… turning them on when the camera was on. Didn’t do a lick. And, believe it or not, we had about 7 people walk in between us and the camera during that shoot. Easily the most of the show. I thought that particular moment was too funny not to edit out - luckily Nick is a great spirit and one of the friendliest folks out there. He takes it all in stride.

Not the first in the industry with dual amps . I have a pair of paradigm sub12’s and they each run off of two 850 watt amps each. 1700 watts rms per 12’’ driver.

Really wish they would get their prices down. They have good stuff but for 3k each, you can get better, like rythmik subs.

@@XDUDE3D look. SVS plays in a different league now. They don't play as much with the ID brands like they used to. They are more in line with slick aesthetics, marketing and big box stores. Not to say their performance is bad. They absolutely make a high quality product. But you pay a premium for their products because you get the app controls, easy to access, customer service, best warranty, the newer models have EQ and whatnot built into the app, monitoring your circuits so you don't overdrive etc etc. The rythmik stuff is great. Best performance for $ along with PSA IMO which I personally run but you get the sub and not much more when you buy one of those. The 16 ultra was not great value in its segment in recent times but I think the 17 ultra puts them back in the game and until 3rd party test, reviews and measurements are out you really cant hate on it. If it performs similar to other subs in its price range and is $200-300 more expensive, I'd say its features and whatnot justify the slight price increase and that is probably the right choice for some people.

​ 1.) App support (Rythmiks knobs and switches on the backside are pain in the a..) 2. Integrated room calibration. 3. Waaaaay more Xmax. So you get much more burst/impact power. 4. Motor and amp are bigger = low(er) distortion, more durable at higher SPL. Greetings from germany. I ordered 2 Rythmik FV15HP2 in Piano Gloss for my small 1300ft³ home cinema. Although the shipping was expensive ($990 for both) - the price is still good (better than 2 SVS PB4000). Very satisfied. 👍🏻 Rythmik makes really good subs FOR THE MONEY. Not more and not less. But Monoprice does that also (yeah, with some reliability concerns 🤪)... Unfortunately their subs are only for 110V designed. Rythmik relies on Hypex, so they have 110/230V mode.

So yeah', another year with everyone getting envelopes slipped under their doors to NOT compare this sub to ToneWinners new subs. There's only one that guy who dared to make comparo. videos of ToneWinner vs SVS. ToneWinner triumphed over SVS every time for every size sub for way less money. Of course, the new generation subs from both manufacturers are released so let's see if SVS can compete with ToneWinner going into 2025...
