I never get tired of that two stroke snarl as she comes up on the pipe! Looking forward to a Sunday ride on my USA RZ this weekend. Beautiful country roads in the UK.

About 35 years ago while out on my learner bike the Yamaha RXS100 between Betws y coed and Lanwrst a red and white 350 ypvs passed me absolutely flat out followed by his mate on a Honda vf500. I was blown away ! About 15 mins later i caught them up as they fuelled up at the Shell petrol station. They waved at me as I passed . That moment ensured my life long love of bikes 👍

Great vid, loved two strokes back in the 70’s they were much faster than their 4 stroke contemporaries. I never had the LC versions but did have the RD400 that had a heavily modified engine and J&R power exhausts. It was very fast after 3500rpm before that nothing. Problem is that as with many modifications back then it had been made faster but no change to brakes or suspension, and the tyres, especially in the wet were another problem.

Have to say it was very strange seeing you at Devils bridge, it got even more strange when you set off from Caton road garage, that's right where my mate lives and the yellow van when you leave the garage is his Dads... That RD is lovely!

I do miss two strokes, had the slightly earlier RD250LC in 81 when you could still ride them on Ls! Interesting view from the 360 camera, I've resisted so far in getting one but they do allow you to follow the action nicely.

Ha, I do believe I saw you at Devils, I noticed the LC and was stood by the fence on the other side of the road as you left. It was my Africa Twin(1 of 2) right in the middle of the throng, I can see it on one of your stills.
@MOTOUK14 жыл бұрын
Arrr I spotted your twin, love them. Interested in one, how do you like it?
@mikejarvis30354 жыл бұрын
@@MOTOUK1 I actually think they're really excellent. I've been a bit surprised about how poorly the finish is lasting, admittedly it's kept outside, but fasteners are rusting, teh white painted frame is starting to go round the welds, you'd expect better of Honda. The DCT thing works really well, though, I'm surprised at myself for how much I like it, except for manoeuvering, I could do with a bit of clutch control there. Stepdaughter's just pointed out I'm on it as well - Cool!

@@MOTOUK1 wow what a small world :-) My mate crashed his 500YPVS when he clipped the roundabout just before Lancaster (from north m6) Almost removed his ex gf's head on a road sign showing off to a Porsche driver. Rode it to Kendal crying and with its side missing, with NO oil, dry all the way. Funny I was just telling my wife how leaving the m6 at Lancaster and getting into all the traffic on the run in, you had to watch your speed as you were still used to motorway speeds. Today sadly the Lancaster visits are mostly medical and Travelodge based lol My son likes the burger cart bills burgers, near boots :-) So what you got now, don't say ss50 lol (45 unrestricted)

That model (31K) had a 20 litre total fuel capacity (18 main tank and a 2 litre reserve). Not bad, but when thrashed, which was very easy on those bikes. the mpg would be in the twenties, so 90-100 miles between fill ups.
@toucheturtle38402 жыл бұрын
I had one. From 0 to 100mph in no time, which is basically how I rode it😂. Managed 170 miles on a tank full once, but usually had to fill up at around 110 miles. Brilliant bike, quick & reliable.
