Wouldn’t mind as much if it was a one off, but no. Every single update since launch has broken something within the game. HvV is genuinely unplayable. It’s also typical how their ‘special event’ this week is only lightsaber heroes in HvV when the blocking, stamina and hit boxes are completely broken.

Frostbite is such a complex construct that even Dice doesn't know how It fully works. From what we know, we can assume that It will evolve into Skynet at some point, since no one knows how to work with It. Think about It: Dragon Age Inquisitions had huge developing issues thanks to Frostbite. In sequence, ME Andromeda was fucked up because they didn't managed to work with Frostbite. Then, Battlefield V comes out full of bugs and glitches. Finally, EVERY SINGLE BF2 PATCH BREAKS THE GAME, and they never know what happened, Seriously, this engine is cursed or something like that, It's the only plausible explanation for all of this, since even incompetence couldnt make things as bad as they are.

DICE has used the Frostbite engine for a long time now. They know how it works. Problem is that the games they make using that engine just aren't optimized well enough for it to run smoothly.

Maybe it’s the Frostbite engine? Every developer EA forces to use it has issues like BioWare. Respawn refused to use frostbite on jedi fallen order, probably for good reason

Frostbite is very hard to work with according to DICE. It may boast extreme graphical quality that other engines like Unreal can't match, but it's a nightmare to program.

"Held together with duct tape". Those have always been my exact words when it comes to DICE's update. Add 2 or 3 new things? At least 5 other things break. Fix 1 or 2 heroes? Suddenly blocking with lightsabers stops working. DICE can keep saying they playtest all these updates, but it really shows they're probably lying in order to get these updates out as fast as they can.

Literally I got the update and played the mode for one match for an hour and thirty minutes (lol everyone was giving it their all and figuring out the mode) and after the match ended i was so pumped and ready to play another match and then the glitch hit and I couldn't play for a week

WHile I agree that bf2 2017's saber mechanics have been utterly broken, it is a different style ENTIRELY. You CANNOT justly compare them. Battlefront was all about fast paced, arcade slashing (yes, the 2005 version too), while Jed Outcast/Academy was MUCH more hardcore, nearing "melee sim" territory. SO you can compare Jedi Knight saber combat to something like Mount and Blade Warband, as the genre of gameplay is similar. Both new AND old battlefront was meant to be more arcadey and flashy. So stop acting like a different style of combat is inherently bad. If not for all the bugs, i find this to be extremely fun take on force/saber combat, and I don't want it to be "realistic" like you do.

I only pointed out a fact, that battlefront games have ALWAYS had slasher mechanics for their heroes, and BF2 stayed faithful to that STYLE. SO hearing the title "BATTLEFRONT 2 2017" You should NOT even expect mechanics like Jedi Academy. It is FAR FETCHED to have that expectation, and this is FACT. You can say " I personally enjoy Jedi Knight's combat system more" but that doesn't mean a more arcadey system is "garbage" for not fitting that preference. That's like saying Dark Souls has shit combat because For Honor "does sword combat better". If you can't see how wrong you are, then you are just ignorant. Not like you are actually going to read with intent of understanding, but I will still clarify: I DO NOT support the current combat or defend it with the amount of bugs it has. I merely support, and enjoy (as most players of the game do) the general idea of the combat if it were NOT broken and unbalanced.

@@bigdimig5368 You cant have lightsaber combat where two people must lock onto each other and combat each other slowly, in a game where there are troopers in play around you trying to kill you and also llay objective, battlefront 2015 had a thing where if luke and vader did their heavy attacks they lock their lightsabers together and you fight each other by mashing buttons to win that duel, but they had to make the players invincible because the troopers arent gonna let the duel happen they are going to shoot and kill, the combat could be improved for heroes vs villains but the blaster heroes would come in an ruin it too

I love DICE and what they have done for the game and will defend them a lot of the time, but this is not something that can be defended at all, a full on gamemode is near impossible to play or even enjoy and capital supremacy phase 2 just doesnt exist anymore, i cant even play vader my favorite hero cus his 12 swings got reverted to 8 swings from a bug on top of all the stamina bugs, literally no way to defend them after all this shit

I think the state of the game could be better if they for one, Fixed the hit detection and hit boxes, balanced each class against heroes(It should not take 2-3 shots of a vanguard to kill a hero) And now the Stamina’s all bugged out so now you gotta deal with that, and most of the Abilities Like with grievous don’t work. I’m agreeing with a point brought up by Swany that they need to devote a month Like October to Fixing glitches and bugs, They can push back weapons and Other stuff as long as you don’t have to deal with anymore ridiculous ways of dying(Legit Played as vader on tacodana and jumped on a first order ship that landed and Died 🤦‍♂️) It doesn’t help that with each update they also find new ways to inadvertently ruin the experience of playing mostly due to the Fact that the frostbite engine is difficult to work with, pretty sure same stuff is happening with titles like Battlefield 5 too because of it. *Just dedicate a month or two to Fix the bugs and this Game will be the best Star Wars game we’ve had in years-* even if it doesn’t Hold up as well when put up against Classic battlefront II and Republic Commando.

TJP Real actually if it had Zero bugs then the game would be perfect, you’d only have to worry about things such as lag and Rage quitters. Some Saber heroes moves are more smooth and refined than others, my personal favorites are alike and Maul because of how fast they are and how quickly they can finish off Infantry Especially When Luke’s intensify Card is maxed it makes you feel like a Jedi meaning you actually take out most Infantry in 1 hit rather than the usual 2 or 3 hits.

@@Fi_Sci_ Well ability animations take too long. You can never use them when you need them. Also guns are inconsistent, you always get stuck on something. too much stunnlocks and things that slow you down, won't let you use you move etc. Bugs or not, this sucks.

TJP Real The only things that come to my mind that would “Slow me Down” Are Palpatines Aura, Specialist Shock Grenade, Officers Flash Grenade, Assault scout pistol(Rare), Arc Troopers Detonator, Lando’s stun(Rare), Chewys stun which is Barely a threat unless all shock cards are equipped, Stinger pistol, Idens stun can be blocked leaving you vulnerable for only a few seconds, and Phasmas Droid(Easily destroyable unless it’s in a tricky spot) Thing is if you already know what to expect when you start fighting, then you experience little to no failures unless it’s your own fault for either rushing the enemy or not getting out soon enough resulting in you being cornered, other than that killstreaks can be more than successful if you experience Little in the way of bugs and glitches, just recently I got 61 kills as Luke on Endor and made it all the way to the end and ended the match top of the leaderboard(It was a fun match) of course I made a mistake or two here and there, rushing opponents(Although it went much more smoothly because my Intensify Card was maxed,) Force Powers Would occasionally not work but due to Luke’s fast speed it was a fast recovery. Their are very Little ability’s that have long animations(If your including glitches than Vader’s does last long) but most of the time Characters Damaged reductions allow them to overcome those flaws.

Sadly didn’t have shadow play on for this but was playing Naboo phase 2 had just ended and the doors shut, an Obi was stuck on our side, I was Vader and another hero and me kept hitting him hitmarkers and all, our team of around 10 people at that spot were shooting him, his health dropped and continues to go down and rise without even killing anything, he managed to kill everybody there, and then a few people were able to easily kill him. (Apparently as I have now heard there is an Obi glitch with his damage reduction not going away as it should)

Despite all the bad from this game I have been loyal and played it since.......but then now this recent patch has become the nail in the coffin for me and for the first time I am staying away from playing it because it is such a headache now to play the game with all its bugs. I am not a fan of the bugs this update has brought, it's really disappointing, but swany brings up every minor bug and calls the entire game broken. I understand that we would love a game without bugs, and this new update was an absolute disaster, but I trust the Devs. They fuck up like all the time, but I know that the devs dont do this shit on purpose. Crossing fingers that they fix this fuck up and they release every thing on time. Plus the game isnt completely broken, many game mechanics are hated, and these bugs make gameplay terrible, but the reason I disagree with swany is when he says that the games updates will all be broken and there is no point to playing. I remember numerous times when swany would say that the next update would be broken, or it would be unplayable, such as the droidekas, but come the update and it was fun and everyone enjoyed it, of course there were the unnoticeable bugs or the bugs that have been there, but none that have been deemed game breaking. This update really was a huge L and understand everyone's anger, I myself was angry when my stamina would drain and I literally hot raped by rey and obi wan then anakin and then luke in HvV. It's a pain in the ass. But I wont let somebody who's been only looking for mistakes decide it the game is really playable or not. I'm not saying that no one should out DICE's mistakes and let them know, but, like I've been repeatedly saying, dont tell people it's broken. Dont bitch when theres nothing to bitch about. Maybe it's because I dont face these glitches often, and I do see a lot of bugs, but these bugs were created, they can be removed as well. I still have hope for this game, even two years later. It has great potential, and these bugs are just obstacles we need to jump over. FIX the roger roger bugs and the game can go back to being a lot less buggy. Thank you

Back at the release of Anakin you constantly saw the glitch where holding down the block button wouldn't do anything. That was fixed for some time and now every time I play Anakin the block glithes out at least once!!!

I've gotten so many blocking glitches. Either I'll block and it does nothing, they drain all my stamina in one hit, or I just can't block at all until I die and respond. I've had that last problem the most with Obiwan. He won't even lift his lightsaber in defense, as if I am out of stamina, but I'll have max stamina. I don't get why this game is so broken.

Honestly this game would be in the top 5 Star Wars games of all time if all the bugs and glitches were fixed. This game nails everything you want to feel about being in this amazing universe and taking part in epic battles and such. But the frustration of bugs and glitches and hero gameplay is honestly this game's own worst enemy. This game just needs a 1-2 month update period where it's ONLY bug fixes. Frostbite wasn't built for saber combat, but there's no excuse for the state that the saber combat is in right now. It's just a mess. I just want this game to flourish, man. That's it.

It's just the heroes that mess things up because they're so freaking buggy. This game is top 10 Star Wars games for me. But it could go higher if the bugs were just fixed.

I played the game since launch. And I didn't stop playing it as I was so faithful to it. Then when the last update came around with all the cliches and bugs, it was the first time I put down my controller and didn't care about it anymore. And started to play the something else.

The amount of times I have died as a hero because somehow I’ve managed to clip into something and get stuck is insane. I either get melted by the other team or I have to respawn because I can’t move

Ive been having a bug in HvV where when I go to respawn, it forces me to pick a different character, saying its going to select a random character, and will not let me pick the character i was. with the new patch, im now limited even more to not being able to pick characters that nobody is even using, besides not being able to stay the same character. I even had respawn not working for me t where it wouldnt let me do it, so i could attempt to pick my original character instead of whatever sloppy seconds it forced me to choose

It's odd, I have seen the bugs on video, but am experiencing none of them. Saber detection is at least better than it was, still needs work.. Again, I admit they definitely happen, but I haven't experienced them.. 🤷‍♂️

Dont blame dice, blame the frost bite engine, dice only has so many people working on this game and to continuously pump new content and have bug fixes every month or other month is more than enough stress on the team. The problem is there lack of communication to the communities complaints and opinions.

We played split screen the other day and then we decided to take turns playing hvv. Turns out the game still thought that we were in the split screen arcade because the bottom half of the screen was black and you couldn't see anything.

Jack Eccles I was playing as Obi wan trying to run away from those speeder things and when I jumped onto the wreckage, Jedi Master Obi wan broke his ankles and became paralyzed, slowly burning to death. It was pretty tragic

7:05 That Rey clip also reminds me of AnarchYxNinja's latest video on Kashyyyk where he plays Grievous and his thrust surge bugs out the same way. 🤦‍♂️ BUG FIXES ARE NUMBER ONE PRIORITY. I don't care if they delay the updates. If they're going to fix bugs, then they need to devote their full time towards it, rather than doing a bit on bugs and a bit on the new updates. Otherwise, the time they spend on bugs will be a waste if they put too much on their plate. Doing things one at a time and prioritising is better long-term, rather than rushing everything and trying to do it all at once.

Idk about y'all but when the update first came out, I didn't experience ANY hit detection issues. But once the HvV "event" released is when I really noticed it.
