Swap or not? 1998 Porsche 911 for 1986 Ford Escort RS Turbo S2

Chatting with a friend and one option we discussed was swapping my Porsche 911 with engine problems for his 1986 Ford Escort RS Turbo. His RS has been restored, welded and resprayed but at the moment is still in pieces so there is a shell, engine and parts all out of the car so a fair chunk of work to reassemble. My car has coolant mixing with oil and is likely to need an engine out rebuild of some sort but he's got a load of experience taking cars apart so it's not so daunting to him.
What do you think? Swap or not?

Depends on cost of repairs and value of the 911 after repairs are finished. All else equal, from my perspective, there's no question the 911 is a more desirable car. I'm in a similar situation with my 2004 VW MKIV GTI VR6. The car continues to be my daily driver for the last 18 years. However, I will likely buy a Toyota pickup truck in order to have transportation while I garage the GTI for extensive refurbishment which may take a 1 or 2 months. The Toyota will be my daily until the GTI is ready for the road. Then the Toyota will be sold.

go rs turbo them things just keep climbing in value id say thers probs less rs turbos than 911s
