Be advised, thread lock is not recommended for aluminum oil pan gasket bolts on BMW e generation. Don't know why, but that's what I found. Something about future re-torque will be problematic if you use threadlock on initial torquing.
@SynicSerraris5 жыл бұрын
Narrowly avoided having to do this with my 335i... Serpentine Belt shredded from a bad OFHG leaking on it and the Front main seal sucked it up into the motor. Was lucky enough for it to not trash any bearings but i'm probably gonna have to replace some lifters and using your video on that as a guide....or not and just send it on the Doc Race kit thats coming in soon* . Keep the video's coming guys as they are definitely helping making repairs easier to diy.

Only had mine for a couple of months, took it to a BMW dealership 3 times and even got an oil change by BMW and they told me I had waste gate rattle. Weeks later I took it to Kassel Performance and found out my cylinder 6 is fucked and it wasn't my turbos. 335i only had 89k miles when it started acting up. Now almost a year later it just sit. I probably missed something but when transferring the vanos solenoids it looks like there wasn't any o-rings in the new motor. You can see the old gray ones ~8:20 but when installing them in the new more ~8:30 you can only see the plastic spacer on the solenoid itself. @@kinginmortal5720 Do you know what kinda car the donor motor came out of? 135, 335, 535? Technically if its the same car you should be fine but I would just reuse yours since it's still good. There aren't very many things different on the N54 from model to model, mainly turbos configuration and oil pans differ from model to model so you can just wire it up your cause your car doesn't care.

I would let you work on my 335i any day. Seems like your a 335i mob boss. Quick question, if I switch to upgraded twins and I'm running a 7 stepped intercooler, upgraded radiator, aluminum coolant hose fitting, dual cone intake, charge pipe and bov, downpipes, second oil cooler installed, 1 step colder plugs, all leaky gaskets replaced, faulty sensors replaced, would I have to rebuild the transmission or forge the pistons for the upgraded twins or should it be able to handle the additional boost and horsepower, just wondering I've had mine for a year now. All without mhd or jb4

No you don’t need to do anything internal or to the trans, I’d say just get a clutch that can handle the torque and you’re good to go

I believe I bought the same one, specifically because I saw it here and that it did torque angle (why BMW must you be this way?) anyways, have you noticed it takes a while to "start up" after being put away for a while?
