To do the chain cable you keep having problems with, you want to keep the second pass of the cable from actually touching your initial elongated “s”. A cable of that type is knitted by passing one set of the stitches under the other. When you let the lines touch, you lose the depth the makes the cable look like it twists. Looking at charted cable knitting patterns may help since they have more contrast than the actual knitted items?
@NailCareerEducation7 жыл бұрын

I think the self levelling quality of gel as well might be a negative, maybe flash cure every 3 passes of gel application, might give a more raised appearance like cable or aran jumpers.

Could you please review the cornstarch nail technique that everyone on KZbin is trying. I would like to know the pros, the cons, how long they last, and if it is a really good substitute for the acrylic dip powder.
@Tata-iu3fy7 жыл бұрын
Rhoda thats horrible. Id rather just not do my nails. Its super cringey to me. Most pros are going to say something similar.
@kelseymorine-reid58637 жыл бұрын
Rhoda I believe it's not even close to the acrylic dip powder. Pro is the cost and you can diy. Cons if not sealed can lump and degrade in water. No strength. Won't last long. Ment as a temporary thing not a long term all the time thing. Who knows the effect of the corn starch with the polish and how it'll react in a few days time and so on. Too many unknowns for me. Hope this helped a bit.b
@beccablueeyes997 жыл бұрын
Rhoda would be interested in Suzi testing out a bunch of diy alternatives that are out there to see which are a big no and which are passable, for a quick fix or you need something done and can't fit in or get into a salon.

Suzie, you need to be as encouraging to yourself as you are to us! We all are always learning. I'm a cosmetologist and just used some new products for the first time. It didn't come out the best because I was learning about those products that were a lot a bit different from what I'm used to. Don't worry about being perfect. I mean, we always want to do the best we can and if we make a mistake it's ok because a lesson comes out of it. Professional is not synonymous with perfect, we're only human. That's how our art gets it's character anyway! 🤗

Is the acrylic to make it look fuzzy? Could I attempt this by drawing with the gel, curing, and then a matte top coat or would that flatten it out?

I kno this was an eternity ago but I think the powder does expire. On the back there's a very tiny picture of a jar with a time stamp 9 months...18 months etc.... I used some very old colored acrylic and they popped off my friend like press ons 🤦🏽♀️😂

I've noticed Suzie has a pink one too. I went to the Vanity Planet website and only saw the black one. 😞

I love how you show your "planned" mistakes because it gives you the opportunity to asses what you did wrong and make it better

I’m not usually one to get my nails done for myself. But I really enjoy seeing art in all its forms. You can learn something new anywhere you look. 😄

The powder is causing the polish to swell when you "nuke" it distorting your design. My guess. (Isn't gel polish self leveling yo some extent as well?) I love that you are committed to perfecting your craft. I wish more techs were like that. You know we find it beautiful.
