Hello and welcome! My name is DaLin, and I am a makeup loving project panner! This video is a Mukbang where we try different Swedish foods while answering some questions y'all provided! Thank you so much for the questions! I am sorry that we didn't manage to address them all, but we will answer more in another video! This was our first Mukbang, so we have some learning to do! There is no licorice in Julmust. It is a malt sugar molasses soft drink.. That is aged in barrels like beer.. But without any alcohol.

Some Swedish commentary: - Kalles Kaviar goes so well with boiled eggs. My favourite way is having it is an open sandwich (macka) with sliced medium boiled eggs and topping it with Kalles. I import a few tubes every time I'm home because I love it so much. Oh, and also, your point of mixing it with cream cheese isn't far off at all! They actually had a version a couple years ago that is swirled with a creamy cheese mix. So good spotting! - Julmust: I'm so offended you compared it to Jägermeister!! It's not at all the same!! It's never been my actual favourite, but I do need a few glasses every year around Christmas. Plus, fun fact. There is a nation wide debate whether the Jul- and Påskmust (Christmas and Easter) tastes the same or not. I always found they do. - Ketchup and pasta is so common in Sweden, but my boyfriend also looked at me weird the first time I had it in front of him. It's just like tomato sauce, so I don't see why it is weird at all! Guess it's just what you grew up with 😂

Omgosh!!! I love these comments so much Sofie!!! Bo and I read them at dinner and just laughed and smiled at them!! I def. want to try the Kalles with egg now! That sounds like a good pairing! And I am beyond flattered that my cream cheese wasn't far off! In fact, I rubbed it in Bo's face some that I was right! :) Now, the Jul v Påskmust argument cracks me up!!!! I didn't know that at all. It reminds me that I have heard people argue over how to pronounce Kex. And can I just say that you might be the first Swede that I know who doesn't like liquorice. :) I didn't know that was allowed LOL. I don't like coffee or most Fika desserts, I was a little worried that I might be kicked out of Sweden! :)

I even converted my super British boyfriend onto Kalles and egg sandwiches now, you must try it 😊 as a joke, my mum always buys the Julmust when it’s on offer after Christmas and for Easter she brings them out but glues a little label over “Jul” saying “Påsk” haha. Me and my brother both hates liquorice and it’s a feud in my household because my parents both love it 😅 don’t worry, you wouldn’t get kicked out x

@@outwardprocessing1408 I start by buttering the bread, then boiling an egg entail the yolk is creamy but not runny, then slices it on top when it’s still slightly warm. And just top it with some Kalles 😊 let me know what you think!

Y'all need a guide for some of the foods! Only kaviar on knäckebröd is very dull, just putting butter on first helps a bunch, but you really need boiled egg slices or potato slices, top it with chives or something! The sill goes great with potatoes and sour cream (get some white pepper and dill/chives in that sour cream). Bo seemed to enjoy a lot more stuff than DaLin, I think mostly cos he didn't make up his mind BEFORE putting something in his mouth xD

I loved this video! I watched the full thing while I sat on the bus on my way home. You two are so great together, it’s so fun to watch ☺️ I live in Oslo (Norway) and here it’s on full lockdown and everybody has to wear masks and work from home if they can, so to see Sweden so relaxed about COVID is super weird.

@@outwardprocessing1408 we eat mostly traditional Norwegian foods, which aren't so different from Swedish foods. Meatcake in brown gravy, boiled potatoes and green pea stu is a classic 😀. Sour cream grid is very good for midsummer, and every time according to me. I don't eat fish (I'm allergic), but my family loves different types of fish. Have you tried lutefisk? I don't know if they eat lutefisk in Sweden, but in Norway it is a gourmet food. Just to warn you, it smells like death and worse 😂. You should come visit when the world gets back to normal and I'll serve you lots of traditional food, that actually tastes good 😉!!

Oh that sounds amazing, except for the death fish. :) LOL. I haven't tried lutefish, but I have heard of it! I will have to see if I can spot it in the store. I am not sure I am brave enough to buy it! LOL. It's really enjoy trying traditional food from other cultures. Also,, it sucks that you are allergic to fish! I imagine that was difficult coming from a culture that seems to eat a bit more fish than some other cultures.

Try knäckebröd, butter, sliced cooked cold potatoes, Kalles kaviar and dill or gräslök on the top. It is really good. The kaviar you could buy in the red tube, it is not that strong in taste. So interesting to see this. I love julmust 😅.

You must try Kalle's caviar with a boiled egg on a sandwich and another sandwich with Kalle's and Gouda cheese. Kalle's gets much tastier with eggs. For the mustard herring, we usually eat boiled eggs whit it, when it's Christmas and Easter.

Yeah, I've definitely seen that. But I'm not convinced that more richness from the egg is what's missing. I think it needs a vinegar-based hot sauce instead. I'll report back with my findings.

You need a thin layer of butter one the knäckebröd, and egg sliced. To go with the kaviar.Then some coffea or tea to go with it. To the herring boiled potatos,otherwise it Will be to strong.

Julmust does not have licorice in it... what lead you to that conclusion? 😂 If you like Neil Gaiman you might have heard of Terry Pratchett. He's done a number of books with Gaiman but is actually fantastic on his own too. The reason Amazon didn't come to Sweden until now is Amazon wanted to import their draconic labor practices to Sweden and the unions said no.

😅😅 Maybe it's the difference in what we grow up eating. Ketchup to me is really sweet and tangy. And pasta style tomato sauce is not sweet, but more robust and salty. So it really threw me for a loop. :)

I do not get how you taste licorice in Julmust haha, I think of it like coca cola that is super carbonated 😋 Was also surprised that you thought ketchup on pasta was weird, but you are right, I mainly ate it as kid anyway, but I do still eat ketchup on spaghetti and meat sauce or lasagna if it isn't that flavorful in itself 😋 Also.. to tone down Kaviar, put a boiled egg on a sandwich and then kaviar on top or spread under!

I'm a swede and I have some things i wanna say: You DON'T drink julmust with a straw, I haven't tried the hallumi (idk how to spell that) And to try meatballs with pasta you must have Felix's ketchup (I prefer that more than Heinz)

That makes me laugh! We had a couple other people tell us that it doesn't taste like liquorice. But I swear it did to me. LOL. It's so weird. I grew up loving Dr. Pepper. When we got some of our friends to try it, they said it tastes like medicine. I was shocked! It tastes like Dr. Pepper to me. LOL. And I haven't tried bear. Are you actually talking about the actual animal, like a bear? Or am I missing something?

Ketchup is essentially tomatoe sauce... Literally an original component for pasta dishes. I have no idea why anyone would feel its "so wrong". Obviously its a low end tomatoe sauce, no italian person with any national pride would ever accept it, but that would be due to the "quality", not the ingredients. What do you think marinara sauce is? Tomatoes, salt, pepper and sugar... now go read on that Ketchups ingredients. Youre actually the weird ones. Not the people putting Ketchup on pasta. 🤣

@@outwardprocessing1408 Honestly I cannot tell much difference. I'd say Felix is slightly sweeter and Heinz slightly darker taste. But maybe that's just my imagination. I always preferred Felix. But maybe because it's Swedish or becuase I like the bottle better. I actually don't know. You should try Filipino Banana Ketchup as well. Happy weekend and take care!
