First heard this song as a 7 year old kid and it blew me away. Here i am today, well into my 50's and it still has the same effect. This song, along with Ballroom Blitz, "Surrender" by Cheap Trick, "Rebel Rebel" by Bowie, "School's Out" by Alice Cooper, "God Save The Queen" by Sex Pistols, and "Paranoid" by Black Sabbath sums up the 70's for me. RIP Brian, Mick, and Steve.

Sweet definitely belongs in the rock ‘n’ roll HOF but they’ll never get in because the idiots that choose who goes have ridiculous standards. They’ll put in some unknown blues guy from the year 1837 or some no talent rapper, but they won’t put in the biggest band in the world from 1968 to 1973 which was Three Dog Night. Paul revere, and the Raiders and the Guess Who should also be in as should Badfinger. Suite was very massive in the UK but in the US they only had three huge hits and a couple of minor ones. T Rex should also be in but they were a one hit wonder in the states. In the UK they had at least five number one songs. The Shadows should be in because of Hank Marvins influence alone, and for their chart topping success in the UK, but they never had a hit in the US so that’ll keep them out.

"Fox on the Run" - Sweet's biggest hit was actually written by the band members (in 1974) who decided they needed to come up with their own hit apart from the material they were given. They wrote the song in a hotel room on LA's Sunset Boulevard with probably some inspiration from Wing's hit "Band on the Run". It details their experiences they had with groupies while on tour.
