As someone who has worked on many farms and has dealt with this type of stuff there is a few things that I can say. 1. The car park thing. Yes provided the pile gets big enough and stays undisturbed for long enough it can look like a car park. (I have made that mistake as well thinking it was a car park.) 2. The guy smoking. Yes that literally shit is very flammable. Also, for those who don't know, the reason why you never cover shit pits is because of the heat the pit generates. The tarp on top will catch on fire because of the heat. And it stinks. A LOT. 3. The cleaning. Get that off of you as soon as possible as it just stinks and also if you have open wounds (big and small) could be a health risk. 4. Turning the heat up. Turning the heat up makes the decomposition process accelerate hence why the smell got so much worse. And also the boots. The fact that you needed 2 people to get them off. Damn.
@gnarthdarkanen74642 жыл бұрын
Especially on the cleaning up point... There's more than "sewage" in there, and bones are dangerous enough on their own, particularly since farmers and ranchers aren't often in the habit of post-mortuum medical exam's on dead livestock... No telling what killed them... BUT also because there's NO QUICKER way to get a septic wound than to break the skin and mash sh*t in it... It was effective for the Vietnamese to dig small pits into which they'd put a "punjy-board" (basic board with spikes pointed straight up) and then take a dump on it... A soldier who can't march (or walk) can't fight either... Be careful out there... ;o)

Cigarettes burn below the flashpoint for gasoline. Sparks from static electricity will ignite it but no one freaks out about that. You're very lucky to have survived that! A farmer close to where I live literally 10 minutes had a slurry pit and he fell in and nothing he could do but wait for death. So am glad your made it out safe!!!
