I have been doing keto for Four years. Eating sweetener kept me at Times on track. I have never had a problem at all with sweet things on keto. I have dropped 90 lbs and feel amazing.

Same here!👍 I couldn't have sustained on keto without my keto safe sweetners! It's been over 7 months & I'm down 47lbs and bloodwork all normalized! Without medications. 😊

@@cjcj6945 There may come a time when you reach what is called a stall. If that happens to you, you might want to consider eliminating the sweeteners for a period of time to see if that helps break through the stall.

The longer I went without Sugar, & sweet things, the less Sugar alternatives I found I needed. Especially when baking with Stevia & Erythritol, I use much less then the recipe states. Sorbitol and maltitol are in lots of sugar free candies, mints, gum. They actually generate an insulin response. They are cheaper than other options. Erythritol and xylitol do not create an insulin response but they can cause grumbles and gastronomic discomforts. Splenda has been bleached and wrecks your gut biome. Liquid stevia is good, some powder stevia too, but if it tastes bitter to you, then find a different brand.

Biologically, humans are programmed to be able to recognize ripeness of fruit, vegetables by their sweetness. We also, primitively, might consume fruits seasonally, to add to our fat before long winters. We no longer eat seasonally. We are our own worst enemies because we lack portion control.

The sweetness has been associated with an insulin response by some observations. So triggering a Fat storage hormonal response can be bad. This will potentially interfere with using fat for satiety & energy. Not sure I see a reason for long term use.

Dr Westman love your channel I broke my love affair with sugar rice flour starchy food under the earth beans corns etc 2 years ago ..I am free of those things my insulin ranges most times below 70 ..one time 90 and another 110 that’s the higest I have measured..I find my ketones ranges from 3.3 to HI on my keto mojo yet my diet is a high fat diet ..I started keto /carnivore them Omad in September 2020 .. no wine or any other Alcohols over 5 years .. I am as mostly having a half glass of wine occasionally ..my carbs are mostly 10 total carbs or less November was totally 0 carbs ..I am not obese or have any health problems.thanks for all your hard work for the Keto community

I have a question I did my very first extended fast 108 hours I did great no sigh of hunger whatsoever and no side effects I stop because 2 days straight my ketones level were HI on the keto mojo and my glucose was 43 and I did not want to endanger my self so I stop .. I did bone broth first day and half and then the rest was black coffee water tea with Celtic salt . Do you think I was in any danger on such Hi ketones ..I felt fine I went to work I work 7 days per week .. 59 black female 4 adult kids .. no health problems walk everyday

@@winsomecohall2250 unless you are a Type 1 Diabetic, it’s next to impossible to get Keto Acidosis which is life threatening, through nutritional ketosis. Having said that, we do not advocate extended fasts.

I really need Dr Eric Westman’s view on this. I love stevia in my coffee. So after listening it seems it’s okay to have between 5 - 10 small packs a day. Although my aim is always to have less where possible. I think I may have introduced almond flour and coconut flour a bit early in my weight loss diet. These are not things I have every meal though. Perhaps I will reduce them for a while and see what happens to my body. Thanks 😊

SUGAR is not my problem, I don’t have any in coffee or tea. Once a month (as a treat), I make a Chocolate Mug Cake and use Monkfruit sweetener (1/2 a tablespoon = 0 Carbs). If I feel like a dessert after dinner, I will have a jelly-lite. Lost 40 lbs since Feb 2021. 🖤

I’ve gotten used to 25% sucralose in water. The flavor is not quite right but it’s less bad than the alternatives for coffee or for adding a sweet touch to savory dishes. Erythritol seems not too bad but I don’t use it much. I wish I could give up all sweeteners but right now it seems beyond me.

Thank you for this video. I like his simple approach. If you count the total carbs you won't go wrong. The best sweetener is the one that tastes good to you. Folks on the web had me scared to eat Splenda. This just freed my mind. I can continue to eat some Splenda from time to time without going crazy. 🤪🤪🤪🤪

He is just trying to be neutral... Splenda surcralose has been insulin response for me, which can cause weight gain instead of loss on keto. Currently testing without it as of today. Daily post on tiktok @meggawomann

I use a stevia that is blended with erythritol. Each packet has 2 total carbs, 0 net. I don't use it every day, but if I'm really wanting to lend a bit of sweetness to something (like a homemade bbq sauce) I'll use a packet or 2 and count the total carbs. So far I've found no ill effects, but everyone is different.

Some sweet things cause an insulin response. We seldom eat any of these sweeteners in isolation so we need to take into account whatever is put into the mouth.

hi guys, i use Lakanto Monkfruit which is so intense a sweet flavor, that might use 1/8 cup for a large keto dessert. Even less amount needed than Swerve. Any thoughts on this🎄🔥❄️

I don't use any sweeteners. I drink my coffee with just cream. But I want to chew sugar free gum again. I really miss it. I would chew 1 maybe 2 pieces a day. I would chew it until my jaw aches. I don't chew a pack a day. Is it ok?

I love people who are thin and experts who have not known obesity telling me that calorie reduction is how its done and to eat balanced diet, everything is ok if u control portions, that's a bunch of B.S. U DONT KNOW. if u trying to fix obesity, go keto and stay off ,wheat pasta,rice,potatoes, eat fatty meats and green leafy veggies and live healthy for life.

They all taste disgusting. If that is the option I dont need sweet. I would prefer small amounts of natural, (maple syrup, honey and turbinado) in small quantities on occasion. Without added grains u can easily fit in a treat now and then. All these keto dessert, biscuits and bread substitutes is like vegans replicating meat.

All of them have made me VERY sick -- massive headache, shaky, dizzy, nauseous -- horrible experience. I am afraid to try any other ones. I am with you -- a few times a year, I would rather eat something with sugar than all this other stuff. I am not worried about metabolic problems if keto is my lifestyle most of the time.
