Now that's a drum demo done right. Thanks Nick, for putting sales first and not your drumming ability. We already know you're a badazz drummer. I need to hear what the kit can do and I need to hear different important grooves that I'd be playing. You played some really cool sounds the kit has and you showed how versatile and sensitive the kit can be. Great job and rock on! As for this kit, I need to know how much better it is then the previous version. What made the previous version so well-worth the money, aside from all the samples and drum sounds, is the ability to upload and use your own sounds. I can't do that with my TD-30, which is a crying shame since the TD-30 cost thousands more. Thanks again!

@bubba1010109 ай бұрын
Exactly what I thought-Roland should be scared. I thought this would cost double or triple what they are asking. Astounding design effort. Positional snare head sensing and other tweaks could easily be added in a super-deluxe model.
@nonyabusiness60849 ай бұрын
@@bubba101010 The positional sensing of the snare or any drum really isn't that important. Especially when it jacks up the cost of the kit. Having dynamics is what matters & this has them.
@bubba1010109 ай бұрын
I agree with you on the overall value of this type of instrument. Funny, on the dynamics side- the fact that the snare dynamics will “clip” at 127 or the highest midi value with say, only 80 percent of the force one can hit with means the drum will sound similar at all force above that level and won’t choke/react/sound the same when hit super-hard. And without positional sensing I can’t “back up” rim shots with the stick tip landing closer and closer to the snare rim for extra character and ring… it’s not possible. At this price point, the pros outweigh the cons here. It’s a fantastic product!
@TruthAndMoreTruth9 ай бұрын
The reason they include a snare stand is because the snare is so shallow, many existing stands may not be tall enough to get the playing surface high enough. I've run into this with practice pads in a snare stand many times.

I've seen many sales pitch "reviews". From what I can gather: • Snare does not have position sensing. • Snare does not have rim shot detection (how did they not do this?) • 20-25 seconds boot time in the module (which is basically a linux PC). • Unpredictable kit load time with muted pads till load is complete. • Much improved triple zone cymbals with a bell, bow, and edge on every one. • 18" ride replaces a 16" ride. • One less cymbal then the original strike pro/SE. IMHO, I feel like adding this module to a Strike Pro SE would give you 99% of the same features, with nicer shells, and an extra cymbal. Paying an extra $1k for this kit seems out of line to me. Would also be nice to replace the 8" tom with a bigger one.

This does seem like a Win for Alesis and sounds great, ghost notes are very articulate now and build Quality looks better from here than the strike. It also seems you can split all the triggers now instead of just the Kick, Snare and Toms. My 2 gripes, and 1 is a big one. There is not enough direct outs and they should be TRS (Stereo). Even just adding 2 more to make 6 stereo with 2 mono mains is a must these days. If recording, how are we supposed to separate all the sounds? My second gripe, and this is with ANY NEW DEVICE these days, is WHY ARE YOU STILL USING USB HOST CONNECTORS and PROTCOLS? EVERYTHING needs to be USB-C and support it's Protocols, PERIOD, it's 2024 for Christ's sake! If they fix those 2 issues and this thing can edit triggers to the extent of Roland and get rid of acoustic kit machine gunning on larger drums, then there would be no reason to buy Roland anymore and that's what we need is stiff competition in the E-Drum market. I will say this is a good step forward, I'll likely get it, but it just needs that extra umph. I will give them praise on letting us stack 3 layers, that's 1 more than Roland. Plus their software for creating multi-velocity samples is pretty awesome, that's something Roland doesnt do as well. I'm in Alesis's Corner, they just need to work on a few aspects.
