I feel for Phil going through so much with his ex and now health issues. I love Phil collins music. But just knowing he has his son who is so respectful of his father and taking over the drums, I think this fulfils Phils heart. So nice to see this.

He can be proud of his father. Phil performed in both Live Aid concerts ( 1985 ). And he was drummer and vocalist of 70's group Genesis. Phil Collins. Legend. Genius. Forever.

AussieTV - ‘down to earth guy’ kind of read that everywhere these days ... doesn’t seem to mean that much if people make that claim as soon as they heard a guy in one interview. Listened to an interview to Jerry Lewis the other day and there were a lot of ‘down to earth guy’ comments... turns out he wasn’t ... I think we should just leave putting people on a pedestal if we don’t know them a bit more intimate. Just keepin’ it a bit more real! 😅

I’ve gotta say man, it seems that Phil and his wife raised a wonderful kid. Most eighteen-year olds are insufferably blasé and arrogant :)... and he’s just so... down-to-earth, articulate, and self-aware. Really impressed with him in this interview. Kind and confident young man. Good on him and his family.

Tim091 091 Phil Collins was state educated, he didn’t go to any top private school, whereas Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford and Peter Gabriel went to a top private school called charterhouse. Phil was a grammar school educated kid who then went to stage school before joining Genesis.

I've been fortunate enough to have met Nic and chatted with him for a while before their Glasgow show back in Dec. 2018 (?), and I can honestly say that he is an extremely kind, modest, sincerely interested (and interesting) young man...and he's got a bright future in front of him.

He seems like such a sweet kid and so polite and well spoken. My own father passed away about 10 years ago and it still hits me hard to this day. Nic is one lucky kid being as talented as he is and getting to spend the time he does with his dad. They are both amazingly talented percussionists and they not only favor each other but also play in similar styles as well.

It's Phil with hair (i should talk). He looks soooo much like his Father back in the day. Lilly looks so much like him too just a feminine version. Great to see him carrying the torch for his legendary dad. I grew up with Genesis and still put on a vinyl from time to time. Phil has a sound that is very distinct and original. One of the greatest drummers to ever grace a stage...MUCH respect!

James Kirk Wrong. Orianne’s mother was Thai. Her father was Swiss. So Nicholas is 0% Cambodian and only 1/4 Thai. Also, if you say he looks nothing like his dad, you must have never seen pictures of Phil when he was that age.

Lily is a spitting image of her mother. Simon closely resembles Phil, as does Nicholas, even though Nicholas is a lot taller and has more of his mother’s complexion. Matthew has Phil’s complexion but more his mother’s face.

I saw Nicholas play with his dad in San Francisco last month and he was phenominal !!!! It was so sweet as I felt bad that Phil had limited mobility and could no longer play the traditional drums...but both transitioning; Phil doing bongo style with the band and Nicholas taking over the drums just as talented as his dad but putting his own spin. I have great memories of Genesis/ Phil Collins concerts in the 1980's and this latest tour did not disappoint.

Todays kids in many european countries are being teached american english. Like in sweden, in ireland, and in switzerland. Phil was living there, and i guess Nic might also have been in the school there at lake Geneva.

Wow! Young Mr Collins. You are 30 going on 19! I toured with your Dad in 1994. Best gig ever! I was a set carpenter and treated like family. He even said when I had to leave both sides tour . I was flying home to have my daughter. He said hey Biff, Phil is a nice name smiled hugged me and gave me a very GENEROUS BONUS. Your Dad is one in a million. I was blessed to be part of his staff. He would walk around with my son Trevor on his shoulders. BTW nice hair. Not by Prevost! Biff

Got to meet Nick and his father when they were flying out of the fbo Atlantic aviation Pittsburgh where I work in 2019....met his father years ago during the lamb your which I was able to attend the show.....very interesting and nice people. This kid is absolutely amazing. So glad to see that he’s getting the notoriety he deserves. It’ll be nice to see if he ends up singing too. He seems so down to earth and sweet. Not too many 16yos are able to hold down a full blown tour- especially to the capacity of the drumming demands of Phil Collins- a one of a kind legend, who began as just a drummer himself. Wonderful vid. For those who don't know, at the end when NickD'Virgilio says that he has a history with the band, he WAS IN GENESIS as the drummer for their brilliant album titled 'Calling All Stations', and has my utmost respect for that. Great video; keep up the good work to all involved!

He wasn't IN the band but just played on a few tracks on that studio album. Nir Z played on the majority of the tracks and played on the limited '98 tour.

Phil Collins was on tour with most of these guys when Genesis was recording Calling All Stations. This is one of the primary reasons why they had to bring in fresh musicians instead of utilising long term Genesis touring members.

When you actually play drums with a dad who's a drum legend, it must be daunting. Nic is really talented and he handles it well.
