You can't go wrong!! Boss have always made the best sounding chorus in my opinion. It just has something very special about it.

Sounds better then the original. Less colored & more pristine in the high-end. ( less tone sucking ) from buffer. Really nice. Now Boss needs to re-do the Waza Craft High-band Flanger - too. - Michael Caz - NYC -

Damn, Mitch's original CE-2 sounded gorgeous. Really thick and warm - almost syrupy.
@mattgilbert73476 жыл бұрын
I had a 1980 MIJ Black Label Silver Screw *pre-serial numbers* (batch no. 200) and you nailed it with "syrupy". It was SO lush. Alas, bills took priority over my Purple Rain and Gilmour tones...had to sell.

I own an original black label! and the Waza! I love both but will say this, I prefer the Waza! as it has more options! and I do like that cleaner vibe about it!! the new buffer is GOOD!!! it doesn't effect the quality of the effect! your original signal is just coming through more clear! I think some people get confused when saying the original is warmer :) they are both warm! but one just has a different buffer :) The original does not sound way better as some put it? its not night and day?? in a live situation, nobody would tell

I kinda like the sound of the old CE2 buffer. (Warm or cloudy). But a GE7 may bring that tone of the waza back closer (if you need too). Especially playing alone, adding a bit more bass and pulling back the trebs a bit would likely get you an even "better" sound than the original CE2. The GE7 pedal has saved me alot of $ buying various OD tones i was once chasing, by just tweaking the current cheaper drive pedals i have (eg: SD1 and NU>X Plexi Crunch). Im still new to the GE7 7band EQ, but it doesnt take much to get a sound you like, or remove something you dont like in a tone.
@ReginatorNet8 жыл бұрын
The more I listen to this demo the more I wish they kept the tone of the original CE-2. Maybe this was not possible with today's components? Maybe they thought the original had a design flaw and they sought fix it? Either way I'll still buy it and try it myself on my guitars and synths.
@TheTrent088 жыл бұрын
There's a clear difference between the two, stemming from the new buffer. You can hear the difference in the clean tone. Giving the pedal a modern buffer creates a more open sort of sparkle, the cloudiness of the original created a very warm chorus effect.

I own the black label original and this new version, both are so close you wouldn't notice! I would pick the W though as it has more options and has the edge on keeping your guitar signal clearer, its not night and day!!! though like some people think here?? you can't go wrong with either but the W will bring more to a live set! and it has stereo!!!
@AlainHubert5 жыл бұрын
I prefer the stereo sound out of the CE-3, which was both A and B outputs offered the mixed direct and effect signal but 180 degrees out of phase with each other. I wish the Waza Craft offered this mode, but alas no.
