I remember you did mention about going back to the states on one video. I expected there will be a lull on your videos. But I also expect to see videos from you where ever you are. That's natural coming from a vlogger. The world is big, you can never see all of it. Even just in one suburb one could not see the other side of it if one stays just on one or two streets. Speaking of traveling, I might have to mozy on with my trip back to Vancouver soon. Been putting it off for quite a while now. But hey, I'm retired, it tends to make you take things slower. Safe travels from an island in borneo in the land below the wind. Take care.

I love this channel. It shows the optimistic side of the world like how Chinese people are helpful, kind and trying their best to be environmentally friendly by being minimalist and reusing stuff as much as possible. Watching the news nowadays only shows negativity and this channel shows that people in the world are actually kind. I wish there were similar channels for other cultures so people would know more about the world. It would help end racism since imo racism exists due to our fear of the unknown. Knowing more about others and actually putting ourselves in their shoes helps us feel empathy for each other.

Dear Katherine, your video brought me back to my childhood. I grew up in Wuhan and I had a school friend who lived a few steps from the Yangtzi river. We often, without the knowledge of our parents went swimming in the river without any floating/life saving device (not even a basket ball). In most years (unlike this very special year of 2022), the river is the widest and swiftest in the summer. The water speed is very different depending on the distance from the river bank. In order to get onto a floating light in the middle of the river, one needs to swim up ward close to the bank and then move to the centre in line with the float. The first time I did this, when I got close and was asked to pay attention to be ready, I was shocked at the speed the float running and crushing onto me. One can easily get panicked and be washed away by the flow. One must slide around the floating cylinder and catch the steel cable before being washed away by the swift flow. Once on the float the joy was ours every time a boat runs by. The float would move up and down with the wave left by it. We as a group also swam across the river once without any protection and all separated because of the difference in each person’s speed. Today, no parent would allow their kid to do what we did as a child.

My message was probably too long so some part of it did not show up. After we swam across the Yangtzi river on July 17 (the day after the official celibration of Mao's swim in the Yangtzi at the age of 73 yo in 1966 on July 16). A friend took the ferry over to bring us money to take the ferry back to our side of the river. We were all in our swimming suit. When the ferry arrived at our side, we climbed on the top of the ferry and dive one by one into the river making a spectacle. Most passengers would rush to one side of the ferry to watch us making the ferry tilt to that side. That brought great joy and pride in us (16 year olds at the time).

7:30 I wish to add to what the guy said about the temple for dragon god: Dragons in Asia are gods of water, for example in movie "spirited away" the boy character is actually a god of a river. And he has a form of a white dragon that can fly without wings, so in Asia people could guess he is a god of a water body somewhere before it was revealed. So the guy said there was a temple for dragon gods, at the most dangerous part of the water. He means the temple placed there so people can pray to the dragon god, and make offerings to the dragon god to keep the water calm and do not flood the land, and keep the fisherman safe, as the water is very fast and dangerous.
