High-quality MP3: www.contrebomba...
This is Richard Elliott's jazzy arrangement of the spiritual "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot". Richard Elliot really knows how to bring down the house with his arrangements, and this one is no exception. The piece gets off to a great start with a passage played with the feet along with some finger snaps, and concludes with a jazzy finale complete with pedal glissando.
The sheet music is available here: www.organmusicd...
The organ featured in this recording is the virtual Palace of Arts Budapest concert hall organ by Inspired Acoustics. This organ weighs in at 5 manuals and 134 ranks. It's impressive tonal resources lend themselves well to this piece.

WOW - I loved that - all of it, but especially the pedal glissando. You're an example to all of us.

I know how that goes. I tried to resurrect my Vierne Final after only being "on the shelf" for a year. It's amazing how fast the music can slip away!

Sometimes I'm lazy and just practice in my socks because putting on those shoes can be quite a chore! I sometimes feel that I'm more accurate without my shoes on, but I try to discipline myself to do my serious practice with the shoes. I will tell you that pedal glissandos are much easier with the Capezios I'm wearing in this video.

Oh my, that's just too much fun! I'd try it except that my size 13-EE feet can't do nearly what they used to be able to. I did my best work in university when my feet were size 11-C........I'm ashamed to say that a lot of my repertoire from then has fallen into ruin and I doubt I'd ever be able to do very much of it any more. Enjoy listening to other do it, though. Kudos to you.

Organmasters are made by Capezio, but they have a different sole and form than the Capezio 445s which I use. The sole is a slick leather whereas Orgamasters have a suede sole. The Capezio sole is better for glissandos - I also prefer them for overall pedaling over Organmasters.

Absolutely stunning 5-stars for a class act! I have size 14's and I learned to play with socks (at least I'm not barefoot like some guys!)

Hi azapachekid, I do actually have a couple of my own arrangements in the works, but I'm thinking that's going to be the exception rather than the rule. Composing/arranging and performance are two totally different animals. I know a lot of very fine professional musicians who have told me that they prefer to perform other people's works rather than compose.
