@Foetoid2k65 ай бұрын
Arm based. New hardware leaks from shipment details paint an excellent picture. 12gb of ram 7500mb/s DDR5x, 256gb of storage at 2.1gb/s transfer speed which is close to the XBX/S. Docked mode before DLSS will be between Ps4 Pro and XSS; DLSS and Tensor cores will bring it close to XSS. I'm sure DF will cover it soon but it's looking like Nintendo are, surprisingly, giving this thing more power than most people expected.
@stephenembry40385 ай бұрын
Will the dock do anything different this time? I saw a comment about a co processor in it? I think i remember people talking about stuff like that for witch pro? Is that feasible? If so does that mean a switch 2 pro dock could later be released to have even better upscaling for tv's?
@Foetoid2k65 ай бұрын
There was rumor that the DLSS upscaling could be an external GPU via the dock, but as it turns out, it's all packed into the console itself. It is however now likely the dock with have a fan and additional airflow through the Switch 2 itself.

7nm for a mobile device in 2025 is not good. Granted 7nm is probably relatively cheap now, so that's probably a huge factor in their decision. However, for battery life and overall processing power it'll probably barely be at the level of a Steam Deck. Of course the Switch 2 will still be a big upgrade over the original regardless, but we definitely have to temper our expectations.

I think that the "switch 2" will have more than enough power for the games that their target demographic wants to play. We have to stop viewing the switch with the eyes of "console/pc gamers" and start seeing it for what it is. A product intended for a younger audience while still riding the nostalgia factor for the older Nintendo fans.
@RaphaelFellowes5 ай бұрын
You’ve missed a demographic: adults who like to game on the go and need something lightweight that you can pause during cutscenes. The steam deck is too big to just shove in a bag - I can take my switch everywhere; it’s perfect.

@@RaphaelFellowesbut that’s not their demographic. Never has been. The game boy. DS. And the switch was always aimed at younger audience or those who want to play the type of games Nintendo makes.
