My switch says it has "firmware version out of box: Unknown" what does that mean and also when u r formatting ur sdcard to put atmosphere and all the other stuff onto it do u lose ur game data like hardworked game data, and also..... i have too many questions.. lol.... but do u have to have one of the rcm jigs to do the transfer back to the switch or not or can u make ur own? thats all and also y do u have to do the same process for doing other programs like tin foil and golden leaf and etc???

because you should be shutting down ur switch before you take your sd card out, and every time you fully turn off your switch (hold down power button and click power off) it needs the payload to be injected again

I created the ftp folder but I get the following error: "Windows cannot access this folder. Make sure that you typed the file name correctly and that you have permission to access the folder. Details: A connection with the server could not be established" Any ideas? I've checked the ftp address in my switch and is definitely correct

Danny Sian Firmware will never matter. What matters is that your switch is unpatched. You can find references online that will help you figure that out.

for you no. if you didn't buy a switch by now your switch will be patched. but yes you could install shop things for free but if your going to go out and buy one thinking you can you can't. you missed your window to buy one if you haven't already.

Yeah not for awhile I'm on 5.05, and I'm about to update at this point. I mean I'll be honest I, as most other scene followers do, only jailbreak for FREE games, and I've already beaten all the games I care about that are 5.05, and below. I know Homebrew is a thing, but let's be honest here most of the homebrew I've seen are either ports of games I can emulate on a cheap Raspberry Pi, let alone the Gaming/Emulation PC I built years ago that can emulate PS3 games like a champ. same can be said with PS4 Linux it's cool, but I already have better with a Windows platform PC Not to mention if I really want to I can pair up my PS4 controller on most PC titles, and have a leisure experience in my tiny room if I feel like it. Regardless it'll be much better updating my PS4 for exclusive titles like Spiderman, Red Dead Redemption, and so much more even if I have to buy them I can just buy cheap from Redbox.

@@blazeit4905 we download it parts by parts, for that we use a program called jdownloader2 which can download alot of files at the same time, then we extract the 1st part and then we are just transferring over to a usb. And if you didnt know we are using a pc to download them, theres a tutorial from modded warfare which shows you how to do it.

You can also use pc or an android phone to inject payloads

They don't require a dongle those people just choose to use that method. It's easier and you can inject the payload anywhere you go with your switch instead of needing a pc all the time. And yes you can also inject a payload from your phone

You need to format your sd card to exfat. Fat32 doesnt support anything bigger than 4gb and there are no tricks around it. Besides it’s way easier just to format it to a different type. Just make sure to backup your data before doing that.

Why? Just follow Episode 1. So long as the latest version of Atmosphere supports 8.1.0 then there is no reason why you can't just follow that tutorial.
