The time has come for me to say goodbye to my beloved Fujifilm X-T30II camera. In this video, I share my journey and decision-making process as I switch to a new camera. After a year and a half of using the X-T30II for street photography, travel, and everyday shoots, I realized I needed something more to match my growing needs.

X-S20 brought my love back to photography! I always carry it everywhere I go. I love how everything looks beautiful taken with this camera. I just wish there’s an option to name my saved recipes and also a slot for 2-3 more. 😅

I agree that its not enough only 4 custom settings slots, but you can rename them! When you are saving them there should be option to rename. If it didnt had that option I would forget very soon what recipes I use 😁

XS-20 use bigger battery (same as XT-5), can shoot more photos with just one battery. XT-50 still using the same battery as XT-30 / XT-30II

Nice! I have had an X-S20 for a few months now. Love the grip and small size. I never use the screen for shooting - always EVF. I actually like that you can hide the screen when not in use. The only wish I have - more than 4 C modes on the dial - I find them super useful - ideally replace the vlog and filter options with 2 more C options - that would be perfect for me!

I wear glasses so I mostly avoid shooting through evf so I wont smudge my glasses, but now you mentioned I might reconsider it since it might help with that rotatable screen issue. And regarding C modes I totally agree, on X-T30ii there were 7 and here 4 and it isnt enough for sure

Just sold my XS20 and get XT30ii. I found that XS20 is too heavy and big for my everyday camera. And imho, the ibis in xs20 is not that good for docummentary video. so-- will stay with xt30ii until xe5 release, i guess.

Have you tried combining it with a lens that has OIS? In my opinion handheld gives a pretty good result, but because of the grip it is less compact, but not that much, bigger battery makes up for that. Although I have a question, if you say X-S20 IBIS isnt good enough for documentary video, then how you plan to capture that type of video with X-T30II?

I made exactly the same decision and found a X-S20 for 900euros wich is a deal. But it's my first articulate screen and it's sucks, I'll love to have a 3-way tilt screen like the XT5...

Yeah, will have to get used to that articulate screen. If the X-T30II the only reason to upgrade was IBIS, with this camera the only for the upgrade would be tilt screen :D

Great decision. XT-5 is the preferable choice in my opinion (crop capabilities with the 40mp sensor, and weather sealing)… I love it, but xS20 is great!!! Enjoy it!!!!!

Hi, thanks for sharing this. I’ve been thinking of doing the same. I think I’ve outgrown the X-T30ii for a while now but was afraid to let it go because of the size. I prefer smaller cameras. I am not interested in the X-T50 for the reasons you mentioned. I also need a back up for my X-H2S I use for event photography. The X-S20 would match the style of the X-H2S and make it easier. However, I prefer the tilt screen. That’s crucial for street. I want to see how it goes for you!

The screen is a downside on X-S20 thats for sure, but then again, this camera was aimed more towards vlogers, so that makes sence. Still the only alternative with tilt screen right now are X-T5 and X-T50 as on X-T4 there is articulate screen. But hey, people had successfully shot with X-T4, so maybe X-S20 will be ok in that regard too.

I had the older X-T30 and sold it for the original X-T1. Why, the sensor. It is a film-like quality. However, I will keep it and currently shopping for the X-T5. Good luck with gear. There is always something that I "want".

The X-T50 kit right now costs 1600€, so it is actually 500€ more than I paid.

well, yes, I am mostly about photography here, but I plan to use X-S20 if some video job occurs as its video specs are superior to my work Sony A7III, so open gate recording will be nice addition for me

All cameras have so many options that I find it difficult to master. Personally I prefer to improve my “artistry” than to upgrade the gear, but we only live once, so whatever works for you is the right choice.

I totally agree with you and as I mentione in the video the only downsode for me in X-T30ii was lack of ibis, here artistry wont help you that much to eliminate shake while filming. Also in my new camera IBIS is even better than in my work Sony A7iii so I might evwn use it for some video work which also good addition.

Turns out yes! I will make a follow up videos on this camera, but it not only helps you with handheld video, but also with slower shutter photos! So if you feel the need I think it might be worth it

If I'm doing anything in low light it helps enormously, hand held 1 second shots are even possible, I leave my tripod at home most days now

Agree! I tried to do some slow shutter shots so moving objects would blur except for the static objects and the results were great!
