viperconcept I’ve been looking everywhere for a review of GT Sport with the fanatec CSL elite.. omg I’m so excited. On the fanatec website it shows NO compatibility with GT Sport so if you could just get into that in the GT Sport review. Like some questions I have are.. Do you get proper force feedback because of the no compatibility? if not will a Cronus max adapter or similar fix this? Please and thanks :D

ViperConcept the break pedal is heavier to stop you from locking up your brakes, when you get used to it you will see that it is very useful when breaking.
@fkfalkkevin7 жыл бұрын
how does it work?
@mikalcopeland1236 жыл бұрын
It's a load cell. Instead of being a spring resistance and measuring brake pedal travel it measures pressure instead. The body is better at remembering pressure than travel. That'd why you're able to recognize instantly when something is wrong with your brakes.
@zedzedski73826 жыл бұрын
So true. It takes a bit of a time to get used to it but once you get used to it there is no going back. It feels more natural and gives you same effect that you get in a real car.
@buzzin-hornet7 жыл бұрын
You do understand that the Fanatec brake pedal is a loadcell yeah? No mention of that in the vid. And that's why is stiffer.
@Thomasso20077 жыл бұрын
That is right. Brake pedal is load cell pedal and why is so hard but at the same time it is like in real cars where the harder you press the pedal the harder you break. Not to mention that CSL Elite brake pedal can be adjusted to be more hards or soft. And for me another important thing... man can use CSL Elite pedals (and hand brake and probably a gesr shifter too) with other manufacturers steering wheel. I'm gonna use CSL pedals (with load cell brake) with my T300 wheel base.
@buzzin-hornet7 жыл бұрын
Tomasz Staśko I'm going for the Fanatec V3 pedals i think purely because i like a stiffer throttle and clutch pedal and theres no way to adjust the stiffness of those pedals on the elites i don't think.
@Thomasso20077 жыл бұрын
Yes, in CSL Elite LC you can only adjust stiffnes of the brake pedal. For me it is enough :) I'm rather casual racing games player, but load cell brake pedalis really great, it is more like driving a real car.

If you're looking for a cheap wheel look for a used logitech driving force gt (pretty good ffb for a beginner, 2 pedals, shift paddles no shifter), it can be found for under 40 euros. Or if you wanna spend a bit more, you can find a logitech g25 (which has better ffb, 3 pedals and a shifter) for like 80 euros. I just bought one for 75 shipped to my door. (btw euros and $ are almost equal, 1 dollar=0.8 euros. So you could actually get them for pretty much the exact same price but in dollars.) If you go cheaper than that there's no force feedback(ffb), so it's barely better than a controller, pretty much a waste of money. And there's no wheels for 20 or under, but you can find some for like 50, but again, for 50 a new wheel will be trash, so look at used stuff.

No doubt, that is the best compare between two wheels , and when i saw you turning with Csl it was really visible smoother... I'm driving now with a G920 , which is surely not comparable with the both of Two, but i switched from Tx ( which went broken after 1 and a half year ), and i had the same impression between Tx, and G920. The Force Feedback of the Tx, was kinda giving me for sure, more ( and accurate ) information , but the feeling i got from the drive itself, it was of much smoother and accurate reaction, and made me easy to reach some good times on lap , than Tx. What i did not like of the G920 in despite, is the resistence of the gears of the Force Feedback which went broken very fast when i tried to push it over 70% ( on Assetto Corsa )... Now, Logitech gave me really fast a New one, without make too much questions, but even with the New one, i'm not gonna Try to push it so hard, cause doesn't give me the feeling of a better resistence than the old one. I wish to know what is your opinion about Tx compared with G920 or G29. Congratulation again for the quality of this review, obviously i subscribed the channel

I wouldn't put T500 RS in the casual wheel category though. It costs $600 and it should be in the mid range category and even the G29 should be an entry level wheels for sim racers but far from being a toy. A toy wheel would be a controller or a wheel without force feedback for playing NFS and stuff.
@alexhndr7 жыл бұрын
Opposite Lock The "Toy" wheel is actually referencing him about the difference that G29 has with both wheel. Still, G29 is a good entry lever wheel for sim/sim-arcade beginner.

are the g27 and g29 differences so much?i think if i buy a csl elite or t500rs one day i cant fit it to a wooden desk because of ffb right?
@Serzari7 жыл бұрын
It's not unfair to call the G27 a toy wheel even if it's not "casual" or representative of your competitiveness or passion for sim racing. I say this as someone with a G27 unless I find better for very cheap secondhand. It has lower end plastic components and internals, the gear force feedback is rough (and noisy and clunky) and not mechanically authentic to the feel of a car, and 11" diameter is unrealistic for anything but formula style wheel rims. The shifter is also one of the worst H-patterns on the market. 900° of rotation and leather/aluminum feel still counts for a lot, as does aluminum paddles and pedals with unique resistances and shapes (even if progressive brake resistance would be better). I wouldn't be as harsh as to call the wheel a toy controller, but I have no qualms saying the shifter is built like a toy, and a bad one at that. What the hell kind of design is a shared 6th/reverse gate on a gear shifter?

viperconcept I heard that the pedals on the G29 aren’t really the best, but I haven’t tried it . I never actually had a wheel, I’m kinda looking for the thrust master tmx, as it’s not that expensive and reviewers say it’s good. What do you think?
@viperconcept7 жыл бұрын
@Tantareanu Jimmy Remember the G29 is the cheapest steering wheel that offers the Clutch pedal too (and the H-shifter is easy to purchase). The brake pedal is pretty hard to push, but once you get used to, you don't care. No problems on the Clutch and on the throttle pedals. But the pedals are available on "F1 mode" only: if you mod them to put them in "GT mode", you cancel the warranty. I didn't tested the TMX yet, so I can't give you advices about it. Sorry. But I'm sure it hasn't the clutch pedal. However it isn't a big deal if you play Formula 1 games and drive sequential transmission cars.
@lucabuzz26787 жыл бұрын
viperconcept Of course having a cluctch pedal is really nice, the thing is , I’m mostly driving (in games) semi-auto or sequential gearbox cars, so that’s not really a problem. As for “F1 mode or gt mode , that’s not a problem, I find both of them entertaining and easy to use.(I tested some, not sure of the model, though) I think I’ll go with the tmx, as it’s a little cheaper. Let’s see what Black Friday has to offer. :)

Couple things: The TH8A has an adjustment screw in the base to tighten the shifter. It can also be put into sequential mode, which works great as a rally style ebrake (the Fanatec can as well). During your test drives, you kept the RPMs higher while driving the Fanatec. You were bogging the gears quite a bit while driving the Thrustmaster. Not a good comparison. The pedals on Thrustmaster are adjustable as well, you simply move the pedal plates, not the whole arms. Overall, the Fanatec is a great small step up but not worth so much money in my opinion, unless you really like the aesthetics more.

Just a little note about Fanatec CLS Elite Pedals. I also use the softest breakmod, but additional you can also lover it inside the software for the pedals. I just bearly touch my break before it is om full breaking, but uses the soft first bit of the break with no responce. Just check out your software for the pedals and play a little with the setting, and you can get a very soft break-pedal :)

Welcome to Fanatec family, Viper! Next year, Fanatec is going to prepare a direct drive wheel, so maybe another simracing step for you ;-)

Thank you for an honest and throrough review! I'll stick for the time being with my Thrustmaster setup but I can see an upgrade to fanatec in the near future... maybe when that direct drive wheel comes around...

Just love the Playstation startup sound! And dont forgett that the fanatec h-shifter can switch to sequential

thank you for this video. it really persuaded me to buy the CSL elite. :)

I see your review is honest and unbiased, but you must know, that the load cell on the fanatec pedals make it a LOT better than the thrustmaster pedals, the T500 is a great wheel, but taking into account the pedals, the CSL Elite is a clear winner. You will see that your braking performance improves with the CSL Elites. Cheers!

Thank you, This video answered a lot of my questions. I am thinking about upgrading my Logitech driving force gt to either a thrustmaster or fanatec but not sure t300,t500 or fanatec. I love the pedals on the t500

The break petal is supposed to be heavy Bc it is mainly used for racing like f1 and road racing or circuit racing and it is good to have a heavy break petal

About TH8A shift stick, it has a screw to adjust more or less force intensity on the shift stick. I have one and it's very sturdy.

Nice review, everyone always says Fanatec is topnotch but dont tell why. Now I'm jealous :D (Ehm... if Fanatec is reading here, I have a thrustmaster tmx pro and I'm sure i can do a review on your direct drive wheel when it is there.)

CSL elite has a Reverse placement that makes sense to real manual cars I've Driven before, since I keep seeing the Reverse on the left side and not the right. It's not a problem necessarily but this is just my experience with actual Manual Cars.

Another path would have been to test the TS-PC Racer + 599XX Evo Alcantara for 660€ (you keep your T500RS pedals and shifter) it would make you a formula wheel + 30cm Alcantara wheel for approx 200€ cheaper.

with the TH8A shifter you can adjust the tension if you want it harder or softer.

At risk of sounding rude it seems like quite a waste of money I had AT 500 and went directly to an accu force direct wheel , and has made a load of difference. I notice very very very little difference between the 2 wheels you are comparing even though I will agree the elite is a little more precise. I hope you enjoy it let me know when you go to direct drive :)

Thank you for the vid , Ive been on the fence on my up grade and Fanatec csl elite bundle is the way I am going. My first ffb is a t150. Lol
@p1ou7 жыл бұрын
I'm skeptical here... The main reason I would go from a T500RS to a CSL bundle would be the load-cell brake pedal, and yet no word about it here.

I think that U missed one of important point - noise level in the silence of each wheelbase and whole kits (w/ pedals and shifters) while driving. It was one of the general factor for me when I replaced my logitech with thrustmaster a few years ago.

Hey man, nice review but you forgot to mention how easy is to change from H to sequential in the Fanatec shifter over the Thrustmaster shifter. In Fanatec you just need to switch a button and in TM you need to take out the cover and replace by another.
@GraveUypo6 жыл бұрын
yeah it's a pretty stupid system. i've never used it as sequential thanks to that. too much of a hassle.
@dustindarland43735 жыл бұрын
Great vid bro, but that fanatec wheel base to me(I could be wrong) looked like the clubsport version not the csl. If I'm right there's not much of a comparison between those two wheels. My opinion I'm not hating or anything. Congrats on having high end quality racing equipment.

Nice vid bro, but you forgot to mention that for the Fanatec shifter it is way simpler to get into sequential mode than the Th8a. it's just a simple switch on the Fanatec shifter i believe whereas you have to mount the sequential plate over the th8a

In your next review can you compare the Fanatec with the Mad Cats SLEH-0005 PS wheel. This was the first steering wheel i ever bought and in my opinion still the best on the market.
@zedzedski73826 жыл бұрын
Brah, you missing so much not getting ClubSport V3. Could have kept that T500 and just get new pedals. I'm still rocking G29 wheel but I went with ClubSport V3 pedals and my god what a difference. IMHO, getting very good pedals is far more important than going from one Belt Driven wheel to another. My next upgrade will be Direct Drive wheel: either OSW or the upcoming Fanatec Drirect Drive wheel.
