Just started my Nourishing Traditions journey as a mama, coming from being vegan for the last few years! Finally I feel like I’m right the right path to wellness. I have a lot of deficiencies to recover from but I’ll get there. Thanks for sharing this video 🌿

I was vegan before too, and what helped a lot was the raw cheese and the cod liver oil.

I come from similar background. I was vegan for 10 years but my skin started sagging and I lost a lot of hair. Eating “Nose to tail” and adding eggs and dairy back into my diet eliminated all of my problems. However, my old plant-based diet taught me so much also. I still love eating wild blueberries, natto, sourdough bread, whole wheat pasta, legumes, veggies and wheat germs.

Excellent job! I read Nourishing traditions about 15 years ago. I also have tried every kind of eating style to see how my body does. I have finally decided that nourishing traditions is the only way for me. We have raised our on chickens and pigs and joined with a friend to raise and share a cow. We have recently moved across the country and are now searching out organic farms to purchase these items while we get set up with our garden and chicken coop. Keep up the good work

I’ve been making kombucha, sour kraut and kimchi and so many lacto fermented vegetables. I love it and it feels good in your heart to know it’s best. I’ve recently come across Sally’s next book and just finished it. Animal fats and why we need them! Fabulous

I was vegan for three years as well, and after that time, it did not do me well. My hormones were off and regular migraines, plus other issues. I went on a whole foods animal based keto diet, which has been a life saver and game changer in my health, but for my kids and family, I want to give them an ancestral diet. I buy foods as close to homemade and natural as possible, but I would like to make the cultured vegetables and dairy again as well as learn more complete ancestral meals that everyone will love.

Awesom and also your baby is georgeous .I just started to read the nourishing traditions. Funny enough, I didn't have any issues making my sourdough bread many years ago,but now all my starters got mouldy after 3 days, maybe its the flour? I'd like to know, what are the difference you feel after eating this way ,going from already healthy concious and vegan diet? Sorry for my english btw., I'm from Czech( sauerkraut with baked pork is a big thing there :D ) .
@WildMother3 жыл бұрын
Aw I'm so glad you're here! I love that you're Czech and that sauerkraut is such a natural part of your diet there, that's so cool. I spent a summer in Hungary a few years ago and they have several traditional fermented dishes too, I love that!

Love this!! You’re video was great, I really relate to your story. I also switched from vegan. It’s such a crazy jump but it’s been so great for me too. We’ve done everything in pretty much the same order except I also make raw beef liver jerky! You should definitely try that , it’s an incredible and nutrient dense food. The study with the rats in the water (how long they could swim) is what convinced me to try it!
@WildMother3 жыл бұрын
WHY HAVE I NEVER THOUGHT OF THIS? Definitely want to try liver jerky now. I think I would be able to do it because the part that gets me with fresh liver is mostly the texture but if it's dried, it would be so much more manageable! Thanks for sharing and I'm so glad you're here!!

I am trying to go from a processed kitchen to cooking like nourishing traditions. I even sought out raw milk for my first time ever 1 hour away from my home after your video. I am just curious how you seem sooo supported in your life changes😢

My husband and I were vegan for two years. At first we loved it had tons of energy and my skin and cycles had gotten better but about the two year mark my husband was losing muscle mass (and he works out a lot!) and my cycles and skin were getting worse. We started adding in chicken and seafood and then eggs and meat. During my pregnancy I craved tons of eggs and dairy. I would scrabble eggs in the middle of the day as a “snack” lol. Lots of cheese and strawberry milkshakes. We eat preety close to the Weston A price diet now and it feels more right, makes a lot of sense. But I still find myself doubting and conflicted that plant based is not the right way, like they are the ones with so and so was healed from cancer etc that I Dnt see from other diets and both my husband and my family suffer from heart disease and plant based is supposed to help that, I still feel so conflicted…

My boyfriend & I have been KETO for a couple of weeks, found out about Weston A Price and this diet last week. Our household is already clear of all of those icky industrial Poofas haha (that's a funny word). Anyways, Dr Ken Berry advised against them. I'm wondering what store-bought eggs you purchase ? We've been getting our eggs from Aldi which I assume don't have the Omega 3s that we need.
@WildMother3 жыл бұрын
Hey Katie, so glad you're here! I actually get them from a local farm now but when I recorded this video (or if the farm is out lol) I love the Pete and Gerry's brand because the chickens are pasture-raised and get to eat bugs and live their best life! I've seen them at Food Lion and Walmart!

In this Moment i am cooking a bone broth believe it or not :D . Thumbs up and subscription nice video i will check out your hole channel the next days ^^. I was vegan about 2 years, i try different diets from glutenfree over High Carb to Arnold Ehrets dietsystem but i never get to the point of feeling completly healthy. I was born with a clubfoot and i realy want my future kids as healthy as possible. I finished the book from Weston Price 2 days ago and i will try to implement this diet into my life. In my vegan diet i eat very much raw food (nearly 80%). I want to ask you how much raw food you normaly eat in your nourishing traditions diet ? Is it important to eat so much raw ? In my vegan diet i had hard thirst to eat meet oder dairy produkts but i try to ignore that. The problem was instead of animal products i eat sometimes vegan chocolate or potato chips. Do you also feel like that in your vegan diet ? And how do you feed your baby/child ?
@Amanda_downunder Жыл бұрын
just wondering, did vegan diet just not work for you ? ty for sharing, your daughter is so beautiful just as u are ! 💜💯
@erichawoolley88462 жыл бұрын
Besides animal fats, avocado & coconut, & olive oils are good yeah?
@WildMother2 жыл бұрын
I definitely think so! The problem is that a lot of avocado oils are corrupted and cut with soybean oil :( A study was done testing like 20 avocado oils and all of them, except 3, had soybean/sunflower oil mixed in them (and didn't list it on the ingredients). A few of them were even close to 100% soybean oil. Ridiculous and so so sad! So I'm suspicious of Olive Oils now too, but I definitely still use it, I just try to buy the highest quality one that I can.

Respectfully -it's a bit waffled - best to explain what the diet is and take time to ensure your full attention is on the video not your child.

You should have continued to be a vegan, and ditch the oils. That means converting to a whole food plant based diet.
