After being diagnosed with Celiac Disease, I tried Carnivore & Animal based. Now in my late 30's, after doing a lot of reading and watching documentaries etc, I've landed on cutting out all UPF and sticking with whole foods 95% of the time. I've never felt better. Plus, not feeling deprived when I occasionally want something bad.

I have celiacs and find whole food best. I eat no grains or dairy works for me.

Refreshing to hear the phrase "I think" several times here, more often than Berry, Baker, or Kay in their smug certainties about what is correct for human beings situated in disparate food environments.

I respect elements of the carnivore and animal based community but I don't agree with absolutely everything. I can only experiment and base my opinions off of those experiences and the literature out there.

The biggest take-away of all what you said is that it's good to experiment with different foods, and see how it affects you in all ways. I went whole foods plant-based 7 years ago, and it was great in terms of health. But it was a lot of work, thinking/planning/prepping. I found that after I got blood work done, my body was deficient in minerals. So, this year, I went carnivore, then had blood work again. Eating meat improved everything. I'm not a fan of carnivore, but I will say it's the easiest diet, in terms of making meals. It's a no-brainer. Now, I'm thinking of adding back in some foods; maybe starting out with a Paleo meal plan, and see how I feel. I really found I missed having fruit, veggies, nut and seeds, and things like oatmeal, rice, and beans. I'm sure my body will tell me when something doesn't work. We are all a work in progress.

It's a texture thing with me. I love meat and eggs, but having a bit of flavor from things like pickles, olives, pepper or well cooked potatoes is simply enjoyable. If I can tolerate it and it helps my athletic performance I don't see the point in eliminating. I don't think we should let perfect be the enemy of good. I think it's a complex thing for us to argue in terms of "optimal human diet" because so much of what we do is unnatural in this day and age. Good luck on your journey!

Living in Miami I am quite familiar with the low quality ethnic "food". Those people are used to it and know how to prepare that stuff to make it edible. Of course their physical state reflects the low quality of their "nutrition". I never work out, I hate exercise. My life is physical work anyway. The carnivore diet is the best for me but I can add yard picked fruit and fermented veggies at times. I tell people ease into real nutrition by eliminating the processed crap and cook at home. Honey is sugar, I avoid it. Bread is what I call duck food.

I gave up keto carnivore diet. I got really sick. I think my stomach and gallbladder doesn't work well without carbs. I got a horrible virus for 6 weeks. I don't get sick. I had sores that wouldn't heal. I went back on carbs my viruse went away all my symptoms went away. My gallbladder pain is gone

I admire your journey in taking charge of your own health. Sally K. Norton’s book titled Toxic Superfoods should help explain certain of your experiences especially with respect to the impact of oxalate rich foods. It certainly helped me to understand what some of my past diet has done to me.

I know that obesity and type 2 diabetes does not come from eating a Carnivore or clean Keto diet.
@dhlong16977 ай бұрын
How do you "know" this?
@sidsnyder80437 ай бұрын
@@dhlong1697 Because I'm 68 years wise, and I've done both a Vegan and now a Carnivore Diet, and my obesity and type 2 are gone. After 4 years, I weigh what I did at 19, my blood sugar and insulin levels are real good, no more fatty liver, no more inflammation, no more kidney stones, no more allergies, no more brain fog, and no more digestive problems. I wouldn't have believed it was possible, until I tried it.

How much caffeine and what time of the day
@studentofphysicalculture7 ай бұрын
In all honesty 500mg a day sometimes. Morning, late morning and early afternoon. It's hard for me to work a desk job without caffeine.
@Dudewheresmycarnivore7 ай бұрын
@@studentofphysicalculture yeah that's about what I'm at. Maybe 400mg. Cup of black coffee in morning and 200mg caffeine pill at noon. I sleep really well though. I wonder why the insomnia. Stress?
@studentofphysicalculture7 ай бұрын
I'm not one hundred percent certain. I think it's probably a combination of things like stress, lack of satisfaction in some areas of life. When I hike all day and actually use my body, I'm tired. But sometimes I feel like carbs help.

weak points. drink clean water and make sure the meat is wild caught or 100% grass fed with added grass fed tallow due to lean percentages in ground beef. seed oils have a half life of 2 years. your view is a very realistic one however, especially related to your travels.

We got a huge jug of grass fed tallow from US Wellness Meats. Not bad!
