Haha dude this is crazy, I actually went from using Blender, to then recently switching over to using Krita for my animations!! Great video btw. Blender has some super neat tools! I think I prefer Krita for the more basic, 2-d layout, as I prefer the more classic animation style, but Blender was pretty sweet too! Keep it up man, I love your work! Can't wait for a new vid. :)

I recall that I wanted to "upgrade" from FlippaClip a year ago and I didn't want Adobe because my house doesn't have internet, so even the "benefits" of a monthly subscription (i.e. " keeping the product up to date and hacker resistant") don't apply to my situation. And so, I ran into Blender (mind you, my problem isn't about price! It is a problem of subscription vs. product. I want to buy something and be able to get right back to where I started after a period of time). Honestly I never found that good blender 2D tutorial (until now), and I slowly transitioned into 3D modeling, but... honestly, everything said here made sense! This is the 2D Blender tutorial I was looking for, so thank you sir for making this video!

What do you mean draw perspective? You have 3d tools and grids to do real perspective with real camera settings and such, to draw perspective just arrange things in 3d space, you can also blockout things with 3d cubes and then draw on their surfaces.
@DudV22 жыл бұрын
arrange me a drawing of a building in a way that its walls follow perspective lines
@DimiArt2 жыл бұрын
@@DudV2 you can do it easily, theres even addons for perspectives. Doing it in 3D will make it so much more accurate than free handing it and using those lines as guides i promise you that.
@micmacha Жыл бұрын
Given that Blender is a 3D program, my first thought for perspective would be to use an actual mesh. Then I could either delete the mesh or hide it from the final render when I'm done.
@LuckisMe Жыл бұрын
I do do that sometimes, but I've gotten so used to drawing in 2d with perspective lines, so it's nice being able to create them using the radial tool.

I would use a cube to draw perspective Like just insert the camera inside cube

I think perspective is better drawn by using the 3d feature. 3d objects with Lineart or just for reference and draw on top

in the Adobe Animate program, there is the Symbol and Nested Symbol feature, which speeds up work very much, and I did not find anything similar to it in other programs. Is there a similar feature or ability in Grease pencil ?
@LuckisMe4 ай бұрын
Sort of. Within separate objects you can do loop animations, tween the objects around, and do things similar to Adobe animates symbol feature. So in one object I could have characters talking on a beach. And then in a separate object, that I could call background for instance, I could draw a six frame animation of waves swelling. I can set that to loop. And then over that hundreds of frames of the two characters talking, there's a six frame loop of waves swelling in the background. I've been thinking about making another video on blender 2D animation
@animationlife12414 ай бұрын
@@LuckisMe Please make a lesson explain this feature and how to make the most of this feature, because it will save us a lot of time. For example, create an object and store all the walking and running animations in it, for example, and how can I call it in other projects. In Adobe Animate, the Symbol feature provides capabilities Awesome and very large, and unfortunately no one has explained it before in Grease Pencil
@HalValla012 жыл бұрын
I've always liked the idea of combining 3d and 2d, like build props in 3d then characters in traditional 2d, all within one software. Have you ever tried that? I know some big animation studios use it as a shortcut, but I'm interested in your opinion

This was interesting. How would you say the workflow compares to your previous animation software? If for example you were to race yourself to make a similar animation in your previous software, what sort of time difference do you think you'd achieve?
@LuckisMe2 жыл бұрын
Dat's a good krestion! If I were to make Churchianity in Krita it would've taken about 1.5x longer I think. Adobe Animate would be like 1.1x longer. Krita is raster based so there's no short cuts that you can get away with like with a vector based program. For instance, if I wanted to rotate a drawing or stretch it out, in Krita it would have to stretch each individual pixel of the drawing, which makes it blurrier. Where as in Adobe Animate and Blender it's able to maintain quality no matter how much you stretch, skew, or rotate a drawing.
@SinisterPixel2 жыл бұрын
@@LuckisMe so it's basically a slightly better and free version of Adobe Animate that's not made by Adobe? Seems like a win win
@lawrencedoliveiro91042 жыл бұрын
If you need more vector drawing tools, you could also use Inkscape. Because its native format is SVG, that’s easy to bring into Blender, and you can also export objects from Blender in that format.

3:20 a better way to do perspective is just create your background with basic 3d Objects and use the perspective camera.
@LuckisMe2 жыл бұрын
I actually tried doing that while working on my most recent animation because if your comment. Good idea! It's still a good skill to have, being able to draw perspective in 2d. But slapping in some basic 3D objects is a quick surefire way to get the perspective just right!
@DimiArt2 жыл бұрын
@@LuckisMe I'm so glad you tried it! it's still a good skill to have for a traditional artist, but i'd say in most cases 3D is a much better option unless you're an art teacher or something like that.
