I like this style of routine. Seems to work well with my muscle type I suppose. I do 4 sets of 12 pull ups; 4 sets bodyweight pronate grip, 4 sets on the assist machine with wide grip... SLOW up & down. Also, I just change bars at the cable row machine; close grip then wide grip. All else is same.

I didn't get if when you do these hypertrophy trainings (Back, Chest, Arms and so on) you do every set to failure or not. I mean, do you use always the same weight for every set or you change it? Example: bench press 8 x 8, every set with the same weight?
@joelscb9 жыл бұрын
i doubt you can go heavy on each progressive set doing this 8x8. he keeps the weight the same.
@mattlinck67947 жыл бұрын
Alessandro Vanzetti so the way German Volume Training works is like this: you generally pick 3 exercises per body part and perform an 8x8 or 10x10 rep scheme with each exercise. The weight remains the same for each set, but once you can successfully complete all reps and sets with that weight you add 5% the next week. And so on and so forth. Id actually recommend only doing this with chest, back, and legs as the program is really designed to help you on your compound lifts. With shoulders and arms stick to a more typical 8-12 rep range for 3-4 sets. Hope this helps brother!

I've heard a lot about lat pulls behind the head being dangerous/bad. I quit doing them after a couple of trainers said it's wiser to skip those. What's your opinion on behind the head lat pulls?
@alexdavidrichardgoodhind573511 жыл бұрын
you get more of stretch when you pull down to the chest behind the neck barbell shoulder press i can understand as too far down and it can tear a rotatory cuff but iv never seen a problem with behind then neck lat pull down its a shorter range of motion but much more of squeeze on the back traps and romboids and traps and just the general back plus with pull to the chest it allows for much more momentum and cheating so id say just try them both and see what works for you i personally dont like lat pulldowns behind the neck as i cant get a full contraction if i pull down to the neck
@bruggetje11 жыл бұрын
10:51 I hate to say, but this shoulder position isn't correct to fully pull the lat with your latissimus.

My chest is so tight that if I tried to pull that bar down behind my head... Well, I wouldn't be able to. I would hit myself in the top of the head (or my forehead) with the bar. Any advice?
@chaboy531211 жыл бұрын
I was taught that when you're walking or running, you want to land on the balls of your feet. That makes you use your calves as a sort of suspension. That's what I've been training myself to do. I noticed that you don't do that. Am I doing it wrong or are you?
