Would additionally to life warden recommend another tactical for PvP, Neural Dart, which is probably one of the most obnoxious tacticals in the game as it gives you yet another stun on a 18(!) seconds cooldown :p

I would absolutely recommend "Neural Trigger" tactical, which makes your neural dart a stun, with a very very low cooldown. Great for Warzones and really annyoing to be at the receving end of but also really fun to play with.

@@sikeout2137 It can only be onbtaind throu crafting, and if you are lucky, kai zykken will have the schematic. Altho its on rotation so you gotta tune in and cross ur fingers. OR, buy it from GTN, which i did, costs about 300mil-400mil or something last i checked.

Started playing AP as my secondary. Two things to know: your dots trigger Overwhelming Offense tactical, and while it isn't the most flashy, 10% DPS increase is great if you can keep it up. So to keep it up, try to use Thermal Detonator after a Burst so the delayed damage will be offset by the dot applied by burst. If you don't have burst, I like saving my last shoulder cannon to deal damage on the detonator gcd. Another important thing is that when you master the base rotation/priority system, you can start breaking out of it by using more heat generating abilities, relying on Heat Vent. If you know you don't need a get out of jail card, use it as essentially a DPS increase, as it lets you use abilities other than rapid shots and get away with it.

I jump between both cause I love Powertech in general. AP is just silly for ST burst, but its a one trick pony. If its mainly single targets, short fights, AP is the king. Anything outside that Pyro shines and its burst is no slouch.

​@@junkiexl86 damm and just now I hear about the upcoming nerf to AP, I'm going to be honest, been playing AP since I watched this, and the glass Cannon statement is actually an understatement, and now doing less damage feels like AP is gonna go from top of charts to close to bottom unless they get some defensive abilities. it just seems like every other class has a way to stay alive for longer than 10 secs while AP just has 10 sec to kill or die. im disappointed

I like both specs honestly. Powertech, of all the classes, is the most engaging and satisfying to play for me. Theres no denying the rediculous ST burst of AP right now, but I still lean Pyro as my main. Good guides as usual Mark.

Also, power yield on AP does NOT work like on pyro. You gain all 5 stacks immediately and the full 200% armour bonus and 10% damage. Also, I would have loved to have seen something about how to properly fluff your damage with Power Yield as this is a big part of the class performing well in operations.

hello everyone, going to start by saying that if this ends up as a wall or a long run on I'm sorry i don't comment much. I am putting this here for 2 pieces of info, 1st as i saw someone did say that power yield does not work the same as thermal yield in that it gives you all the stacks up front and will only give you another yield when you receive a Critical hit, so i would be careful trying to fluff the numbers with it. 2nd while i know power burst is a lot of burst damage, lingering heat is parsing higher and at least in my humble opinion helps smooth out the damage curve. i am going to end with thank you Mark Biggs for all the work you do for these guides others that you do have helped me out a ton please keep up the good work.

yoo fam, if you could make a video strictly on the rotation that would be nice. it was a bit hard to understand it with you going into depth explaining them as you went along. like on conc operative, i would volatile sub my target, veiled strike, crippling strike, into backstab, then lacerate as filler and repeat that rotstion off cooldown. can you make a vid with the rotation for PT AP and just go over the order that you would do them without rxplaining the abilties? not that you did that badly here just was looking more so for the order of them only

I'm not the smartest person but I understand what you're saying. I'm also a visual person. So what I'm understanding is start with Retractable Blade>Rail Shot> 1. Rocket Punch> 2. Thermal Det> 3. EB> 4. Mag or Rocket> Pro Rail> Priority system? What I'm asking is after I use RB, do I need to refresh it with RS after or can I just start with 1234 after RB? Also do you have a Discord?

Noob question. How do you get your dot damage to show in flytext? Mine isn't showing up for some reason. Flytext just shows my direct dmg but not my dot ticks.

That would be the furious combatant armor set with a white and black dye in it. That said you can get a similar look from the Hunter Killer set from last expansion.

Question on implants - for pvp would the Supercommando implant work well? It adds and absorb shield to power yield. Thought it might be helpful in regs and Solo ranked. Specialist implant work? Increases damage reduction by 10% Was thinking these might be nice with veteran ranger over the added damage of Mando Armaments. What am I missing?

I’ve seen some people running it with mixed results. Especially with the stat pool so low, losing out on the raw stats is pretty brutal. However, especially in all DPS games, it can be extremely helpful.

Deadly onslaught is your best friend, flame detonation is an amazing tactical for AOE, and other than that it’s just sadness. Flame sweep I guess 🤷‍♂️

i am a bit confused....if we use energy burst as a filler, won't the energy lode in the energy burst be used before it reaches maximum stack of 4?

Use it as filler once it reaches 4 stacks, not before. Sorry I probably should’ve been more clear there.

Powerlode is now just default for the spec, you get the benefits without the tactical.

Yes. You’ll struggle a little bit with heat management without shock trooper but it’s fine.

Trying to figure out which one to buy after Shock Trooper with my limited resources and I reckon MA is better for prolonged fights where we can get the full Rocket barrage off and the extra 60s but less useful in other content. You have VR on your Pyro video so I thought about asking what you prefer.
