SX4 Front Wheel Bearing Encoder ?

thanks for the info on the bearing, i could feel light magnetic pull on both sides pull so much easier to identify which side (side that seal spins) to press into knuckle so the abs sensor detects wheel speed. the shop manual can be too technical in it's descriptions

Thank you. Wish I knew this before I installed my bearing in backwards and troubleshot the entire ABS and VSS system. 🤷🏻‍♀️ What do they say the first time was for practice now I’ll do it the correct way. Thanks again for the lesson.

The same manual you’re using says “to face grooved rubber seal side...upward”. The seals on your bearing are very different and alight with the manual’s instructions. But, overall helpful info although could’ve been wrapped in a 3 minute box. Thanks.

my awd auto light starts flashing after driving a mile and resets when I shut car off. started happening after I replaced the front wheel hubs assembly that came with the bearings install. could this be the issue.

A wheel speed sensing issue will definitely affect AWD operation. However any loss of wheel speed will also illuminate the ABS/Traction Contol failure lights in all likelihood. Are all your tires the same size/state of wear?

@@TheGibby3340 DIFFICUILT FINDING ORIGINAL PARTS (NO DEALERS IN THE USA) ALL SENSORS- ALL HUBS AND BEARINGS ARE NEW ALONG WITH SPEED SENSOR WIRES (AFTER MARKET).NEW TIRES ALL AROUND AND STLL THE AUTO AWD ON THE DASH FLASHES AFTER DRIVING A MILE OR SO.ALSO CLEANED THE RUST OFF AXLE SHAFT. LIGHT STILL FLASHES.CAN'T FIND A NEW AWD SWITCH. ONLY AT A SALVAGE FOR ANY abs PARTS. tHANKS AGAIN FOR THE INFOR.
