Cool. I actually thought it was more south. Near three monkeys...glad it's closer to my work. that's going to be my new station (maybe martin place)... now I just have to build up the strength not to go to hungry jacks after work.

This is a fact: Pressing the pedestrian button numerous times doesn’t make the traffic lights change any faster…. Good video as always though mate!! 😉🤝

True...BUT...unless you hit the button in dead centre the first depression might not make the required contact.

But it’s satisfying to press it more than once

Phil, have you any insights into the potential of 8 Car D Sets? August sees a number of CCN stations receiving their new car markers (10/8/6/4) to accommodate the new operating model and according to railsafe WN-30-2024 "...“8H” carmarker is to be utilised for 8 car NIF Trains" and "New post mounted “8” carmarker installed" which is separate to the existing 8H at some stations. Curious if this is just ticking the box for a potential 8 car config. We do know they tested 8 cars back in 2021. At least WN-30-2024 demonstrates CCN running of the D sets is potentially coming, maybe even by mid or late October.

Hi Phil, thanks for another excellent video. It was interesting seeing all the city street scenes on the way to Gadigal station. I haven't walked along those streets since leaving Sydney in mid 1981. Looking forward to seeing videos of it all once it has officially opened. Anyway, take care. Rob in Melbourne Australia.

Is the Sydney Trains 2024 Timetable Changes still planned to start on the Grand Opening of the Chatswood to Sydenham Metro Line or have they lied about this decision and make me wait frustratingly longer?
@peterelvery3 ай бұрын
I think the timetable changes will occur when the Bankstown line closes (expected to be the last weekend in August) not when the metro extension opens.

Great stuff. But imagine - people stopping in the footpath to have conversations- must make your life hell!😂

Another good video as always BUT maybe this time you should have checked out what was there first as 80% of the video was spent just looking for the entry. I'm just going to wait until it's all open & spend the day getting on & off at each station. It's massive cost but to realise it will be there in 100 years time still working is unbelievable

Do timetables become obsolete with this Metro service ? It has been much publicised that trains will operate every four minutes which makes for HUGE timetables to publish.
@jason84nz3 ай бұрын
During peak hours you should expect a Metro every 4 minutes, however in off peak and weekends it is every 10 minutes. You won’t need a time table. Just be prepared to maybe wait ten minutes in the weekend. Which means that if an off peak service is canceled it means you may be waiting 20 minutes which is pathetic.

Fun fact! The Ibis who has been pushed into suburbia due to increasing habitat loss is one of the only birds that can kill & eat cane toads! You’re Welcome! 😜Not train related but,hey,now everyone has learned something else from the video 😉🥳

@@sydneytrainsvlogs Exactly!! 😜😊Have a great week & thanks for the interesting videos. My Dad has actually built some locomotives for the Miniature Railway Wascoe Siding here in the Blue Mountains over the years & did restoration work years ago on the 3801,so growing up steam engines in particular were a significant part of my childhood & they are into my 50’s now. Love hearing the locomotives steaming across the Blue Mountains on the weekends. You should also checkout the Valley Heights Railway Museum sometime 😊
