It is my firm belief that no one - no one - has ever performed My Way better than Sydnie performs it here. Her rich timbre, outstanding vocal dynamics, commanding stage presence and strong emotional connectivity distinguish Sydnie’s performance from all others. Well done, Stew!

She changed the lyrics to make it more "personal".She's a woman and she wanted to feel it like something that is talking about her and feel it deeper

Nice reaction. Sydnie, as you noted, changed some of the lyrics. Since the song is written to be sung in the first person, Sydnie substituted "she" for "he" since Sydnie, obviously, is a woman. Same meaning, just adjusting for gender of the singer. At least that's the way it seems.

Just a guess, but I'd say she changed the lyrics because she's singing the song and is a woman....a stunning, talented, woman Almost every other version of this I've heard has been sung by a man.

The lyric change is obviously because she is a woman. She interprets the song almost like a life story of a woman, and her strength and struggles needed to be an independent woman in our society.
