I was in the same camp as Simon. heard that song 1000 times, 1000 different ways. And this was the best version I have ever heard. she didn't just sing that song, she delivered that song, projected that song, and made it her own. Fantastic job

Singing well and getting put through is one thing. Singing well enough to get a golden buzzer is something else again. But singing well enough to make Simon love a song he previously hated... I'm not sure I've ever heard of that before. She is totally amazing!

Complete validation, and she seemed to need it. Sydney could have told the panel about her lifelong dream of being a player in the West End and how she's never been given any real consideration for a prominent role. That if BGT didn't pan out she was going to fall back on becoming a personal trainer. No sob story for Sydney. Just, this is what I do and this is my dream. BGT was going to be the end or hopefully the extension of her dream. This is why you see such pure joy in her face when Amanda pushes on that "Golden Buzzer". Unadulterated, pure joy is hard to come by on these days. That's why I find myself watching this 3-5 times a day just to see the shock on her face, then that broad ear to ear smile when she realizes her dream isn't coming to an end. Pure joy, I cannot even fathom how that must have felt but I do know it's heartwarming to watch.

In an interview, she said she spent 7 minutes (not in this clip) speaking about her limited professional background (two tours singing on cruise ships and performing in Starlight Express in Germany. She just couldn't break into the industry in any substantial way. Due to time considerations, we see only limited clips here.

The majority of the time I fail to see why contestants even get the "Golden Buzzer". In Sydnie's case I was baffled as to why we had to wait until they got to Amanda for her to get that buzzer. She's pure gold in every sense of that phrase. She can charm you with her softer tones or blow you into tomorrow with those high notes. Britain has a new national sweetheart.
