Ex/per/i/ment The letter is the trickiest vowel to deal with. It may say its long sound in open syllable, which is /ie/ as in the , it may also make the long sound, which is /ee/ s in , and it can also be an unstressed vowel sound, i.e. SCHWA which is a soft /uh/ or /ih/. sound. Hope this helps.

First of all thank for the amazing video however I have a question regarding the blends. For example: in the word “foundation” we have nd blend but we still separate them. I got confused a little bit.

Ma'am one doubt.Disastrous . If we decode in this way -- Di sas trous . Then 'Di' open syllable, I sounds long I. But, you said it sounds short sound . Will you please explain me.

Any vowel can say the schwa sound anywhere - a short /uh/ sound - even at the position of an open syllable. Watch the video on schwa to understand this concept, please.

i wanna ask ...is it necessary to explain children wd this vc cv n such terms...i mean it's far more easier to explain to break according to spoken sounds of a word...nai?? n my students already understand in the way im doing...so still is it necessary to go wd this pattern..just to acknowledge myself ...

You can break the words as you speak them if you already know the pronunciation but if there's a new word you need to know the rules of syllabication.

In Characteristic? Char...why /h/ is silent here?
@HomeschoolingwithHira
@HomeschoolingwithHira Жыл бұрын
CH has three sounds that depend on the origin of words. Ch as in chips - English origin Ch as in technology (silent k) - Greek origin CH as in chef (French origin) We don't have any rules to find when to say which sound but a dictionary can help you.

Open syllables says I itself na not e sound
@HomeschoolingwithHira
@HomeschoolingwithHira Жыл бұрын
Letter i has lots of exceptions when it comes to pronunciation. In many open syllables positions, "I" says the long e sound instead of saying its sound. And unfortunately, we don't have any rules for this.
