Yeah I live in the Milwaukee neighborhood lots of this was filmed in and know at least one person at the “party”... they told me it was very much a “call your friends to be in this” thing... so being that this part of Milwaukee (bay view) is not very diverse (queer diversity yes, bipoc not so much), I think that’s the explanation. Not a ton of thought put into casting, thrown together quickly, mostly white part of city. The band was super new then and didn’t have many resources I’m guessing, so did what they could. I think the band members met at the cactus club in bay view so that may be part of the choice for location. I do love sylvan esso and especially Amelia 🌹
