“We are like the people we came from” is so simple but so very deep.
@wowsuchname19396 ай бұрын
That whole verse is just so pretty and emotional, it’s one of my favourite moments of this beautiful song. “And we will move Just like we're in a movie We will speak So warm and smoothly We are like the people we came from Oh we are, dancing and advancing to the light” I’ve always taken it as the passage of life, we move in a structure even through the chaos of life, we form relationships, ultimately we are following the same trajectory as those we came from as we dance towards our end.

I agree however I think it would be cool if that were switched around again. It wasn't that long ago that popular music actually reflected the top artists of the time. That way more people hear about them and recognize their talent.

You know it's crazy, this type of music brings together a great crowd! I've listened to a lot of chillout/chillstep channels and see bickering like I was a teenie listening on a dubstep channel. However it's not the case here, because I see more of "You're right." "You're, absolutely right." "I hear ya." etc. It's more of a good, vibed, collaboration of thoughts! I love it!

Going back to these songs for the first time In ten years. At that time I was just out of high school and starting my first job at chipotle. The song “coffee” happened to be in heavy rotation on the chipotle house radio station which is how I first heard her music. My personal favorite is the version of “hey mami” acoustic on the rooftop.

Aug 31, 2017 - First listen. I'm 30 years old and today was the most important new music day I've had since high school. Profound! During Chance the Rapper's Tiny Desk performance he gave a shout out to Tank and the Bangas Tiny Desk performance, then autoplay to Anderson.Paak and the Free Nationals, auto play to Lianne LaHavas, auto play to Sylvan Esson... All heard for the first time today. This changes everything.

This album is fantastic. After seeing their videos as well, these guys truly display the most natural kind of confidence and their style feels mature but also spontaneous and fun. What I'm trying to say is that guys seem very real and display a grounded, down to earth perspective in their artistic efforts.
