Synergy Amps - checking out the different modules

I really love the concept, and these are truly a great improvement over the MTS series. The sound is so smooth and transparent, it effortlessly knock out any high end modeler out there. Seriously world class tone.

Got to test the T/Dlx and Soldano models in a local music store, running into the effects return of a Hot Rod Deluxe. I was blown away. In the immortal words of George Costanza, "I think it moved." This video, otoh, left much to be desired.

I am torn about the Syn 30 vs the Syn 2. I really currently use a Boss MS-3 switcher which gives me 3 loop channels. It actually gives me 4 and a few other combinations when combined it gives me boost with adding channel 3 to any of the other channels. If I where to get the SYN 30 it has a clean and 2 channels giving me 3. The Syn 2 would have to be carefully selected to do what I initially want. I need a super clean, plexi style overdrive, Bogner Ecstacy Red is my current favorite high gain tone at the minimum. Which 2 modules would give me 4 channels: super clean, plexi, two high gain sounds? My current rig: ch 4 super clean w/compression ch3. Wampler SLOstortion (set for boost, majority of the time.) I use the SLO sound for a few songs. Ch. 2 is my Catalinbread DLS (Plexi tones! I use a XP compressor set for a boost after the CB DLS) Ch.1 is the Bogner Red Ecstacy ( boost and overdrive. I get a lot of great tones currently.

really impressed at the tone with the low volume. even though the amp volume is around 10-11 o'clock the pre's are set to below noon and the volume does not sound terribly loud. My MTS setting like that will blow up a place. What's the difference here?

+modcraft13 Maybe they smoothed out the volume jump around 9 - 10 o clock in the master. Anyway, it sounds awesome!

Hi guys, Can I use a syn1 only with a module and a 2x12 cab without a power amp?

You always need a power amp to run to a speaker cabinet, but you can just run a syn-1 into your amps fx loop (if you have an amp with one)

How do the Synergy Modules differ from the Egnater Modules?

Tonally, I don't know, but Synergy did design their product to accept older modules such as Egnater.

Is this system compatible with the Randall RM Series / MTS? So can I use a new Module on the old Amps? Of course the two channel Modules won't be switchable but that wouldn't be a problem for me.

They can't replicate a Soldano with a $400 module. I've got the Kemper with a built-in amp. I can model the amp myself or download the model that's done in a studio. I have a huge collection of tube amps, I love them. But the Kemper sounds so close it's ridiculous. The AX8 is a terrific sounding unit. You'll be very happy with that. Just pair it with a small PA amp and your all set.

Though I'm not a Kemper guy, and I also love my tube amps, I also feel that it is priced higher than what I think they should be.

I have a Kemper going through a tube power amp but I still kinda lust after a tube amp head. Something about them I don't know. It may be grass is greener type a deal. I also use a Headrush FRFR when I'm not using the tube power amp. Something about a tube head and effect pedals into a cab...
